You do know that solid metal does better job at stopping radiation than a metal wire mesh, right? The idea of faraday cage is that you can save weight if you only need to attenuate specific wavelength, because that way you can select grid of wavelength fraction pitch and it'll do the same job as solid metal plate. EMP tend to be strong enough to still cause ton of damage past the faraday cage, you need a significant fraction of an inch thick protective metal plate to stop it from damaging electronics. As a sack of flesh, you have nothing to fear and need no protection.

Anyway the idea is that photons sort of have size, and it's the same as its wavelength. 12 inch photon wouldn't fit through 1" pitch wire grid. If you're gonna print out your porn forever, and I mean really forever, there's a few things you should know.

Here's an idea. Take a thumb drive, a soup can, some clay, kitchen tongs, a clamp, a metal plate, and some lead and…

1. Melt the lead in the soup can

1. Dump molten lead into a clay cavity with a slightly smaller diameter than the soup can interior and a few inches in height

2. Melt some more lead in the soup can until it's a few inches from the top

3. Cool and drill a hole or insert a piece of clay shaped like a dildo while molten and wait for it to cool (do not allow the hole to go down to the bottom of the soup can)

4. Put the drive in the hole, put the lead cylinder over the hole, secure and seal it using the deformation created by the clamp (with the metal plate on the side of the small lead cylinder to prevent the clamp from pressing into the lead)

I was told by my compsci professor that USB drives only last about 15 years in static storage (ie never plugged into a computer) because it basically uses tiny capacitors to store data as on or off (1 and 0), so without plugging it in to a computer once in a while, it'll crap out.

Cotton is fairly vulnerable to moisture, so it'll rot and damage the disks. Polyester quilt filling, at least if it hasn't been treated with any chemicals to make it less flammable, would do the same job quite well.
