I had damn quite a lot; syrup, bitters, fruits and olives, vermouth, tools, flavored Curacao's, the main basics (like rum, vodka, tequila, whisky, gin, brandy, cognac, even moonshine), I had Irish cream, amaretto, coffee liquor, even absinthe, sake, mead, and Jagermeister. I had to ditch it all because of my mother going insane, AND all I ever fucking drank were old fashions or straight Johnny Walker Black Next to that, you're best to go with just a nice high abv beer and move on.

Svedka Vodka
Jose Cuervo Silver Tequila
George Dickle Rye Whiskey
Larceny Bourbon
Bacardi White Rum
Kahlua, and some homemade coffee liqueur
Sho Chiku Bai Sake, and a couple bottles of good sake
Seagram's Gin
Dry Vermouth
Cointreau
Midori Melon Liqueur
E&J XO Brandy
Ricard
Absente Absinthe
Creme de Menthe
Also bitters, simple syrup, lemons and limes and lemon and lime juice, orange juice, and a few other things
plus some Hofbräu München, Kirin Ichiban, and Pilsner Urquell. I think I'm gonna start with some Hofbräu since I have a 2 pint Hofbräu mug

They've got a Pumpkin Ale brown ale out this season if you can find it. They make a lot of quality beer, and if you want another good company you should definitely try Flying Dog, Evil Twin, and Dark Horse - that IPA crap is a meme. Bitter beer isn't that bad if done right, but most IPA's are just bitter to be bitter. It's sad really, I wish something better could have made it popular, like regular ales :(

She claims she's an alcoholic, but I think it's just poor decision making skills and a wildly underestimated outlook on her physical health.
She would walk into my room within the same day I'd buy a 750mL bottle of whisky, and she once drank almost half of it within the night while I'd be gone for no more than an hour. She would steal my liquor and beers, she would even sneak drinks out of the bottle of whisky she bought me for my 21st birthday so I had to put everything in a fucking crate and lock it all up - the crate was under my fucking tv because my dumb ass never thought to buy a cheap fucking desk. So I had this full bar sitting under my reclined feet and television and every time I wanted to make a drink I had to unplug my tv, and sometimes doing so would yank on the extension chord and restart my entire computer and everything else. And I could easily tell that she was trying to pick the lock with her surplus of bobby pins, being a a hairstylist for a living.
It was just a big fucking boondoggle - I was excited too. I wanted to learn how to be a bartender and really get into alcohol from a safe and calculated approach but I just fell back on drinking craft beers - and she can't fucking stand craft beers because she's like a cat that never learned to stop, that her owners never said no to, and has lived off table scraps and pate for her entire life and thinks that's acceptable. In the end I started selling the last bottles of what I had for like a 300% mark up on her part.

Yes, but its also expensive as fuck. Its about as expensive to make your own liquor (like lemon cello) out of everclear as it would be to buy similar liquor in the store simply because of the cost of the everclear.
>>527129
No shit. If you acquire the right equipment and can follow instructions (partial mash brew equipment is ~$300) its not that expensive to keep going. The problem is most homebrewers start with the extract kits and never graduate. Their beer is usually subpar (no matter how carefully the recipe is followed), kits cost $40-60 for 3 1/2, 12 packs and the cleaning is absurd if you do it in a kitchen. All grain brews though run ~$20 for a 5% abv and taste objectively superior, but for years have cost $1000s to get into.
Cider though has got to take the cake for easiest homebrew. With a 5 gallon carboy, airlock, and a 5 gallon cooking pot you can make 5 gallons of tasty 8% abv. cider for $25. You don't need to worry about boiling, hop regimen or any of the other beer related minutia. If you get it direct from the orchard you don't even need yeast, dump into the carboy and put it in a closet for a few weeks, then bottle right back into their original jugs with a final cold break in an ice bath to kill off any remaining yeast.

Lol, I didn't know Jack White founded that brewery. That's fuckin' sick, dude. He's one of my favorite musicians. I can't say don't try Ballast Point, but I can't say they're that I'd recommend it outside of the major heads as Dark Horse is my favorite and there are plenty of others I haven't tried but would love to. I'll begrudgingly admit it though, they have some good stuff. They're just falling prey to the IPA game pretty badly, as is Sierra Nevada. Their Manta Ray isn't bad, they make a good beer with coffee, and I still want to try their Re Velvet whatever.
I just don't like to mess with crafts you can find at Wal-Mart or Kroger.

Try as many as you can really. And look for styles you think you would like the most. A lot of Breweries have one hit wonders because they don't release what's their best stuff more than only by season and in limited quantities so not everyone gets to try some of it until the next year or so. It's a vicious game. YOu can always try the heady, rich, expensive, Germans and Belgians. Fancy pantsy Quads and Trappists.

If anyone wants to become beer pin-pal buddies just hit me up. We can mail one another beers back and forth or whatever, trading beers we can find where we are and where one might have stuff the other doesn't. My limit per week would be about $10-25. I'm somewhere around west Kentucky and a lot of beers around here made in and around Kentucky have the specialty of being aged in bourbon barrels.
The plan is to get as much of a detailed list as you can as to the beers you can find in and around your area and trade that info to the other person, who of course does the same. Then just try and match equal value from both sides and badabingbadaboom, mailed with false info of course, like, to a different house with a fake alias or where you live with a fake name, or whatever is easier for you and keeps your mind at ease.

I tried one of those once and I wanted to puke. Maybe it was just the specific one I tried, and it's their recipe and not the bourbon barrel, but it was so overpoweringly spicy that it drowned out the beer.

No, they're usually terrible. That's true.
Still though, it beats this IPA craze imo.
Plus there are a few breweries around here worth their salt within driving distance, and not just here in KY. To the south is Tennessee of course, Nashville, and then Evansville and Indianapolis to the north. St. Louis is pretty close as well. Can't say I've had anything from their off the top of my head, but I'm sure there's something from there around here.
