What is Islam's conception of time? Is it linear (like western Enlightenment understandings) or cyclic (like Hindu/Buddhist understandings)?

I'm a Jew and can confirm we believe in something like cyclic time. I want to know what Muslims believe though.

Time is a man-made construct made up and designed for our use. So talking about what "actual time" is, is just philosophical gibberish. We believe that God is not affected by time cause He created everything and the very concept of 'everything'. However, we are told not to curse time. i.e. If you're having a bad week or something, do not blame it on the week, or do not curse at time.

Well, we mark prayer time(s) based on a linear scale, so there's that.

Time is created and linear form our perspective. There are cases of forward time travel in the quran but no backwards travel. Which makes sense considering relativity

There is no concept of reincarnation if thats what you mean but we believe the universe will end as it began

(The) Day We will fold the heaven like (the) folding (of) a scroll for records. As We began (the) first creation We will repeat it, a promise upon Us. Indeed, We - We are able. 21:104

So it might be a reverse process which will end everything then recreation for the final day, but time will still be going forward from our point of view :)

Didn't Ibn Khaldun propose a cyclic understanding of time?

History and civilizations, not time itself.
