What's the efficient-most way to counter the slanderous anti-Islam rhetoric so prevalent on the internet? We've the refutations, and endeavours such as 'discover-the-truth', 'i-jihad', and a. z.-blog're valiant- and concerted-efforts, but they don't pertain to an equitable impact.

We need to be actually using these sites in debates, and debate idiots more often

Best thing to do would be to knock them off the top of every Google search. I don't know if they've put effort into SEO or that the pro-Islam sites don't bother, but it would be nice to have pro-Islam articles at the top. That way more casual searchers won't end up with misinformation.

Mufti Abu Layth talked about something similar(don't think it was this hadith specifically but one like it) and he said that sometimes you find "religious rhetoric" I think he called it, and he gave the example of one hadith where it says that if one person travels alone then he's a "shaytan", two persons "two shaytans" and if three then they're a company. So "satan" is of course not literal rather the meaning is of safety etc.

Some hadiths in bukhari are obviously false though anyway so it's not the end of the world to doubt the authenticity of an ahad hadith.

I'm not sure how literal it is, but I've had mornings where I had a lot of pressure behind my face, and that made it harder to think straight. Washing my nose properly fixes it. I always thought the hadith was a reference to that.

Allergies or sinus problems. I get 'em too, especially in the fall. I use a neti pot. Works wonders.

No, hadiths in bukhari are not obviously false and shaytan entered mankind since before Adam was awoken. Shaytan entered into Adam and passed through him and one reason shaytan thinks humans are inferior is because mankind is hollow.

Abu Layth has very idiosyncratic views. There's a lot better scholars, especially in maliki fiqh. Abu Layth also says that the Meccan pagans probably made books just like the Quran but the muslims destroyed them. He's not a real mufti or credible scholar.

This board is not for people to deny sahih hadiths. Do that at /modernislam/.

>hadiths in bukhari are not obviously false

That's not what I said

>Abu Layth has very idiosyncratic views.

He quotes classical authorities for all his fatawa. An opinion being the loudest one does not mean that it's necessarily the correct one.

>anyone who disagrees with my scholar is not a real scholar

uh huh. See my remark above. He's knowledgeable and well read and that's why people hate him, since he doesn't just parrot what most modern scholars want you to hear.

Let's stay on-topic, ya ikhwaani.

Abu Layth is a real life troll and you ignored what he said about how Meccan pagans made something like the Quran but Muslims "destroyed the evidence."

Dude, I'm maliki and I wanted to like Abu Layth. He intentionally makes himself look like a castmember from the Jersey Shore and he says outrageous things to make a name for himself. If you want to consider his opinion then that's fine, consider it. He wears bling like a woman and has a Brooklyn fade haircut even though al-qaza was forbidden by the Prophet saws. We are supposed to leave our hair an even length, whether long or short by both example and command of the Prophet saws.

>That's not what I said

Ok, you're right you accept the mutawatir apparently. Sorry about that, brother. But really I have some concerns about Abu Layth and really I did try to like him but he makes me uncomfortable.

>pagans made something like the Quran but Muslims "destroyed the evidence."

That's not what he said. He was talking about one specific attempt and he said that it's possible some kuffar wrote better attempts than that one that has been transmitted by muslim scholars. He never said they wrote something equal to the Quran.

Now why did you ignore what I said about the Mufti always citing classical authorities?

>Abu Layth is a real life troll

Calling him names and leaving out his title doesn't invalidate anything he says.

>says outrageous things to make a name for himself

all the fatwa he makes are on issues actually faced by muslims though. And what are these outrageous claims? I've yet to see any "outrageous" claim that has not been backed by big name scholars. The problem is little is translated into english so most people think that the loudest opinion today is the only valid opinion and has been unanimously hold by every scholar to have ever lived.

>jewelry and haircut

Mate he's already refuted all that using facts. See his opponents pick these silly things to attack him on.

>real life troll

if wearing a bracelet is enough to troll you then I feel sorry for you. Must be a hard life if something like this gets you worked up.

>We are supposed to leave our hair an even length

No, as he's already made clear, qaza was someone shaving parts and leaving some. It was never about having the hair all at one length. What do you measure from, are you saying each individual hair must be the same length, or that all hair must go down to the same length?

>Ok, you're right you accept the mutawatir apparently.

I don't accept the hadiths that are clearly outrageous and contradict the Quran eg the magic incident.

>But really I have some concerns about Abu Layth

What exactly is the concern? That he's corrupting the ummah by wearing bracelets?

fair enough, brother.

I'll approach him again with a fresh perspective. I never read any warnings against him, btw. First time I ran into him was when he came on a podcast I listen to as a guest. I bear him no ill will and consider him my brother of course.

All well brother, sorry for the harsh tone.
