UK towns with lots of Muslims are pretty neat. One thing I find interesting is that they tend to do the adhaan over the radio. You need a walkie-talkie tuned to the correct station to receive it, so non-Muslims don't complain about loud noises at 3am. It's a neat way of integrating technology with religion. Halal KFC and Nandos are pretty neat too. Halal certified shops show a certificate from an authority that tests them on it, so you can tell they're legit
It's not a utopia though. I've seen plenty of people who don't take their religion seriously. For some reason Muslim kids seem to be attracted to gangster culture, so you see them loitering around in groups of 5 or 6, putting on what they think is a tough accent.
Travelling is definitely worth it. It's a great way of learning more about the world, instead of having it filtered through the Internet. Birmingham, Bradford, Cardiff(Wales) and Glasgow(Scotland) seem to have the most active Muslims, so if you ever want to go you should try and stop by one of those towns.
