I was contemplating a bit of a thought experiment and figured I'd share with the group and see where the discussion takes us.

If Muhammad(pbuh) were alive today, woken up into our world, what would he say about us? About Islam? About the various splinter groups and sects and schools of thought?

Is there any particular group that he may favor? What would he say about groups like ISIS, the Taliban, Hamas, or other militant groups? What would he think of modern Arabia or modern Jerusalem?

I'm not interested in Sunni/Shi'a fighting or anything like that. I'm just curious as to what /islam/ thinks or if /islam/ has ever contemplated such things.

Well, perhaps, but I'm going to allow it. If it gets out of hand, I'll remove it.

Indulge my curiosity. It's part of a discussion I was having with some brothers at the mosque yesterday and I thought it would be a nice exercise in academics. As for militant groups, well, it doesn't have to just be about militant groups. We can also discuss CAIR or the Muslim Brotherhood.

I'd like to see some form of reasonable, academic discussion. It would be refreshing.
