White revert here. Don't be nervous at all. Willfully submitting to The Creator and accepting Jesus as the Messiah and Muhammad as the final prophet is the best decision possible for here and the hereafter.

Fajr? That is literally the next prayer in the US. Man that's exciting.
>Any tips?
Ask to speak to the imam after the prayer. Ask him or tell him whatever you want. It might be a relief for you. You can also ask if you can borrow some books from the masjid. I'd checkout Islam in Focus if you have the desire.

It's a book from the 70's, before the secular west routinely projected its pathological contradictions onto the Islamic world; meaning neither tiptoeing nor standoffishness on the part of the muslim author.
>Also if I convert, how should I address this to my working class white parents? Won't be looking forward to it.
Do you still live with your parents? More info regarding that situation would be needed before advising.
My parents thought it was "just a phase", the real problems started years later when I asked them to be involved in the marriage process. My mother, a christian, thought it was insane for me to marry a girl before having sex and living together. My father, an atheist, thinks marriage is insane period - he is delayed onset mghow. So I had to do the whole marriage process on my own, that was difficult but tremendously rewarding; I have a muslim family now, alhamdulillah.
