Assalamuialakum, Brothers,

I love the West.

I love the freedoms it provides, the secularism it ensures, and the free-market it upholds. It is, without a doubt, the greatest civilization on earth. However, there is an issue. Religion is at an all-time low in this part of the world, with Christianity seeing the lowest rates of conversion among worldly religions. Now, noticing the rapid rise of Islam, I've realized that Islam and the West need each other more than ever.

Here is why:

- Muslims are in desperate need of modernization. I don't mean this in the cliche, abandoning religion form. I mean a purge of Wahhabist influences and a return to the intellectual enlightenment Muslims in places such as the Caliphate of Cordoba saw.

- The West is in desperate need of upholding its' own values. Judeo-Christian values are falling by the waysides, and Abrahamic values need to be upheld to stop the rise of moral relativism.

What I'm saying is that "Western Islam" must see a rise, for the future of our religion and the West as a whole.

Yeah, I like the west too. And there is absolutely nothing about following adhering to salafi manhaj that is anti-western. Do you not realize that the salafi gulf kingdoms are the most pro-western muslim countries? It seems like you're just looking for a pretext to divide muslims. This is especially eyebrow raising since not only are salafi countries pro-western but the majority of western reverts either identify with salafiyya or are influenced by the salafi revival by-proxy to such an extent they take from it without knowing. Worshipping graves, praying through intercessors, fabricated hadith, self mutilation, drugs, shamanism and other ills were common in the Ummah before the revivals in India and the Hejaz in the 18th century. Bring forth some books from the Saudi and Deobandi ulema and show us the problems you have with them.

If it wasn't for the reforming muslims you despise, Cordoba would have never been muslim. And without Ibn Tumart(rh), who was a reformer just like Abdel Wahhab(rh) - Andalus would have ceased being muslim much sooner than it did.

There is always an impulse for us as muslims to think "hey, we can't make everyone muslim but maybe we can at least make the judeochristians better judeochristians." I fully understand that view. That's why I try to show Jews that Jesus is the messiah and why I try to Christians that the only Allah is the Father. The best thing is if jews and christians become muslim. But a messianic jew that loves Jesus and a unitarian christian that worships Allah alone with no partners are both victories for the haqq. The problems with their values cannot in any meaningful way be divorced from their lack of grasping these core truths.

The west belongs to Christ, friends. However, I hope to dedicate a lot of my life in the MENA region. I'm currently in the seminary to become a Catholic priest and a lot of my brother seminarians (myself included) are diligently studying Arabic because we have been enrolled in programs that will allow us to become missionaries (not only MENA, but mostly there). Our diocese have many missionaries in the Muslim world and they are proving to be very successful, thanks be to God.
