If it's a question that has been asked and answered 1000 times, then there should be somewhere to direct them.

For a start we could sticky the qtddtot thread? Then edit the Op to include links to outside source faq's?

The qtddtot thread is full of discussion and would fill to bumplock over time. I want a single, stickied, locked thread that contains a few of the board's most asked questions.

For example: "Did Muhammad really have sex with a 6 year old?" or "If I convert to Islam do I get a loli waifu?" or "Quran 2:190 says to kill everyone, explain".

Those are questions we get here a lot - I mean a LOT - even though they've been answered. I tend to just delete them because I know it's a troll, but that makes it look like I'm somehow stifling discussion. It would be easier if we could just point to a single post that answers those questions.

I mean, I could just make it myself and be done with it, but I might miss something or answer something wrong.

I'm no scholar, but here's a few:

The Quran is an instruction book for Muslims, but it's also the story of it's own revelation. It's not a book that popped into existence, rather it's a series of revelations that happened over decades.

2:190 was revealed during a time of war, so that the Muslims do something about it instead of not fighting and hoping God does something about it.

Read on and you'll find 2:192: "And if they cease, then indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful

If it wasn't relevant to Islam it wouldn't be in the Quran. Scholars have always taken it to apply to Islam.

WikiIslam can eat a dick. It pretends to give an unbiased view on the religion while taking things out of context and twisting translations to make Islam look bad. WikiIslam is to Islam what RationalWiki is to being Rational. If you legitimately want answers to questions on Islam stay far away.

That rule was brought in for a time because pagans would pretend to be Muslim to get close to camp and steal intel and resources. It's a treason law, not an apostacy law.

When you die you're religion is locked. If you kill someone who could have rejoined Islam you've condemned them to hell, and since murder is a big sin you've probably ruined your chances too.
