I understand the feeling.
My brother used to need some sort of background noise to fall asleep. So he usually left the TV on. The only way I can sleep easily is if it's pitch black and dead quiet, so it gave me some trouble.
I ended up just wearing earplugs most of the times.

The doc said that it was because I sit too much, and don't stretch often enough. They still come around now in then, but not too much.
