I'm not aware of it being on the DS, just PS1 and Saturn, but I also wasn't aware it had gotten so expensive. You can always just get it off PSN for like five bucks, though. Spice and Wolf is fun, you're probably better off just reading the novels, though.
I highly recommend 20th Century Boys, it's one of my favourite manga, at least.
