Could also be the way that textures are used in ps1 games. Some of them intentionally use the texture warping to make them look different.
It would improve on slow downs, yes, but you'd have to have a crazy rig for that to actually work.

The PS3 came with composite cables but I couldn't see shit while fighting the Phalanx. It took me until I saw a thread on /v/ to realize what was going on..Also, my PS1 emulator is pretty crappy. Some sounds will cut out or dialogue won't trigger. I'm not sure what that's all about.

Yes, I've seen that.
I do like the lighting a lot better in the WiiU version, but that was way back at e3. I think that the WiiU version will be closer to the Switch version in terms of lighting at launch.
Switch version also has a lot better textures, and a bit higher resolution.
But then again, it was the e3 build, so maybe the WiiU got the better textures too?
I really liked Grandia and Omega boost on ps1. Those are the only games I've really played for it.

The Old Testament yes.
God was very spiteful and wanted the chosen people to follow the exact instructions. Otherwise, it was an act of sacrilege that resulted in divine punishment. The settling of the land of Canaan was to make sure that the local tribes from that area wouldn't cause any issues later on down the road. Thankfully, Jesus came to Earth so God could stop killing people. So to put it into perspective. Old Testament is God being a angsty teenager. New Testament was God being more mature and letting man choose his destiny. Which is was why Jerusalem fell to the Romans and when Jesus came around he was living in Roman occupied Israel. Plus, lots of stuff was edited out of the Bible that was either deemed superfluous or redundant. So, the entire picture is somewhat obscure especially God's intentions.
