Senpai edition!
Test are finally over and Halloween is coming up!
What do you plan on doing this Halloween?
How about a new thread!
How's it going?
Is there something that you want to talk about?
Is there something on your mind?
Why not drop on by and tell me about it?

fa6ef6 No.2439

Yeah, the first 2 games were one of the reasons I bought a Saturn, and were the first 2 games I bought for it.
I've nearly completed the first game, but I haven't played it in a few months. I really need to go back and finish it so I can get on with the second one.
fa6ef6 No.2440
>>2439
I bought my Saturn just to play Japanese games in general. I eventually got SakuTai just as "a game I had heard of once", and after I finished my first run I bought this Dreamcast and the full series. I'm still on like, the last chapter of 2, though, I've been putting it off forever. The music, though. I have certain songs playing through my head constantly.
fa6ef6 No.2441

Glad you could make it.

I am mad jealous of that dreamcast.
I still don't have one, and that's the one I'd like to get, it's a shame that they're so expensive. I can dream, right?
I'll probably end up getting a regular JP dreamcast once I finish the 2nd game..
>>2441
Cho Aniki is that strange near-homoerotic horizontal shmup, right?

As for Bubble Bobble, I think you meant Puzzle Bobble/Bust a Move. Same characters in puzzle form. Great game.
Fun fact about Puyo Puyo on Steam as Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine.
When Steam first introduced Steam tags and halfchan /v/ took advantage of the Steam tag system, searching "Pingas" on Steam lead to Mean Bean Machine, along with "Double Nigger".
fa6ef6 No.2445

Yeah, you've been gone for a while.
That's an interesting fact about puzzle games.
fa6ef6 No.2446

fa6ef6 No.2447
>>2441
Thanks! I had been lurking for a bit, but something was mentioned that I couldn't ignore.
As unspectacular as ever. I worked and came home.
>>2442
Geez, I paid like 600 bucks (CAD) for mine and all the games with shipping, and when it came, the drive must have been damaged during shipping, so that was I recall close to another 200 dollars, because obviously the parts had to be special ordered because it's a fucking dreamcast. I mean, I gaze lovingly at it from time to time, but I definitely paid for the thing.

There's also a kirby version of PuyoPuyo on the SNES, called Kirby's Avalanche! I have it, it's fun. The Saturn one is much better though.
>>2447
Thats… a lot of money.
Yikes.
How big is your JP saturn collection? Mine's pretty small, but I'm still working on getting the basics for it. Hard to find games locally here, and I'm not a big fan of ordering things online. I'm too impatient for shipping.
fa6ef6 No.2455
>>2454
Actually nonexistant. Everything I played on Saturn was on a burnt CD :^).
How's the Saturn SRT game? I've only played two of the PS3 ones in the Z3 series.
fa6ef6 No.2456
>>2452
>Panzer Dragoon
Everyone has played that game and yet it's so hard to find and super expensive too. I've managed to see it once in the wild and it was roughly about 200$. Ouch.
>>2454
Oh that game.
Cotton is a good Space Harrier clone I highly recommend it if you can find it.
fa6ef6 No.2457
>>2455
Ah, I'm not a big fan of burning CDs. Just doesn't feel as nice to me, and I have a strange love for game manuals, so I usually buy the games. Especially the Sakura taisen games, since they game with huge manuals and posters and whatnot.
The SRT game is alright, the battle animations are pretty lackluster, but it's got some neat FMV from the original animes that the robots are from. OST is good, too.
>>2456
Cotton is also quite expensive on the Saturn. I thought it was a horizontal shmup, while space harrier was more of a third person kind of thing.
fa6ef6 No.2462
>>2461
I could have sworn it was Cotton that was a Space Harrier clone. Ah well.
fa6ef6 No.2463
>>2456
It's ridiculous. I hate the idea of owning games/movies and the like just to re-sell them at an absurd price later on.
>>2457
It's not that I don't prefer it, I don't really have an explanation, that's the only system I've ever really done that for, I might go back and try to grab some of the stuff I really liked, now that I have more disposable income.
Maybe I'll give it a try. It might be hard to play after coming from the newest games in the series, though, where you could use the proper MP3 series OPs and the animations are really smooth. It introduced me to a lot of good series', though, like Orguss.
Going to grab food for a bit.
fa6ef6 No.2464
>>2462
Hmm, could you be thinking of Afterburner?
I think that was similar to space harrier.
>>2463
I understand, I did the same thing with a DS+Flashcart, didn't buy nearly any games for it.
It feels VERY primitive compared to the nice new ps3/ps4 games. I was really curious how the whole Masaki/Shu thing got started, so it's interesting for me.

Makes me sad that most old consoles like the saturn will probably wear out by the time I'm old. Will I just have a bunch of useless video game stuff by then? It's a weird feeling.
fa6ef6 No.2470
>>2469
Not useless. Artifacts of a better time before society's collapse and reminders of when video games weren't full on jew.
Only thing useless would be the new consoles or a bunch of shitty pay to win apps on a cell phone or something. It's a dystopian future indeed.

Sakura is my favorite for sure.
Sakura > Iris/Kohran > Kanna/Maria > Sumire for the rest of them. I also really like General Yoneda.

You liked the original US saturn controller? Most people prefer the JP/US model 2 controller..
fa6ef6 No.2498
>>2497
I got both. I found the original US Saturn controller fit will in my hands. The buttons are responsive and don't feel spongey.
Perfect for Shun Goku Satsu in Street Fighter Alpha.
fa6ef6 No.2499
>>2497
You assume correct. I played through with Maria the first time, but the second time I realized Kanna was my favourite, by a small margin. It's probably something like Kanna/Maria > Kohran > Sakura > Iris/Sumire.
Iris jumps a few spots in part 2, though. She becomes super endearing sometime between those games, I really didn't care for her in 1.
fa6ef6 No.2501
>>2499
I'm going to end up buying a Model 1 US controller, just to gut it and build an arcade stick out of it.
>>2499
Hmm, I can't really put my finger on why I liked Iris so much. Maybe it's because I remembered the time when I was obsessed with looking/acting older than I actually was, and felt for her a bit at the beginning. I really like all of the girls except Sumire, though.
Gah, now I want to go and play it..
fa6ef6 No.2502

It was a well-known installment because it had maps where ten players could play on the same screen at once. Obviously the saturn only had a couple ports, though, so you needed to buy a couple adapters with six slots in them to do it, though.
fa6ef6 No.2510
