This is not exactly on topic for this board but hypnosis and NLP share some similarities as both try to influence people and attract the same audience as far as hypnotists and NLP people are concerned but for far different reasons.
Hypnotists are usually interested in hypnosis, suggestion and its effects on someone's mind, while the NLP folks tend to focus more on getting an advantage in social interactions. (Of course there is the main intersection of psychologists (and advertising agents depending on the broadness of one's definition of hypnosis).)
Both of those try to manipulate their subjects in the end, but hypnosis is largely based on consent and wouldn't work properly without it. NLP on the other hand loses its advantage if the other person is aware of being manipulated. Hypnosis is kind of supercharged manipulation with consent.
As far as this board goes, some hypnotists, that have a more general interest in manipulation, are also trained in NLP or may be familiar with "brainwashing" programs such as mk ultra and enemy turnover techniques although this seems to be a minority.
V1v3 and 54m4nth4 B4nd|3r for example know at least some of these.
SB furthermore may be applying concepts of NLP to hypnosis but as far as >>37073 is to be believed without a lot of success.
