This thread not about the influence of one specific posthypnotic suggestions but how hypnosis in general may affect your work life, social life, ability to drive, concentrate/focus, operate heavy machinery and so on.

This can include the influence of suggestions but is meant more in the sense of listening to a certain genre or series of files instead of one file in particular.

I for instance have been listening to the original B4mb1 series for some time and while I haven't had any transformation suggestions work on me and the suggestions, that seem to work, like the addiction one, usually fades within two hours, I have noticed a tendency to fall into short, fairly shallow trances (or just a trancy feeling), without any effects of the B4mb1 files, form time to time.

Also I feel like I am more focused remembering vocabulary that I previously hadn't used nor come into contact with recently.

Both of these effects are not directly unpleasant, but it is a little bit annoying and possibly dangerous if such temporary "trance" happens to occur when I am driving a car.

I have jet to see if and how the seemingly better focus affects my ability to learn but I have heard that learning under hypnosis is supposed to increase learning speed and memory retention.

What effects and influences of hypnosis have you noticed in you everyday life?

Really, your results sound like the general benefits from meditation or taking some power naps. Maybe you should try that out?

Who cares?

Just shilling the CC license in the hope it will mean something some day, because I like the idea of it and would want other people to respect my work if distributed under it as well.

So basically for the peace of mind.

I was absolutely certain, it would be ignored here (in the best case).

The trace of meditation is actually similar to hypnosis as well as some shamanistic rituals and even doing yoga and therefore sometimes evaluated against those in terms of effectiveness in scientific literature (about hypnosis).

The main distinction as far as I remember is that meditation is intense focus and higher sensitivity to ones surrounding and under ones own control, while hypnosis is usually externally controlled, can have a lot broader influence on the subject, like out-of-body experiences, and features a reduced sense of external circumstances.

I have not looked at it from the meditation perspective, but it is quite interesting to me that some effects seem to coincide more with meditation than hypnosis.

Also I didn't actually plan to develop these symptoms and I am also not interested in strengthening them. As I have indicated, while they are not unpleasant on their own, at least the involuntary trancing/dizziness seems dangerous to me, because I feel like it is impairing my alertness in traffic.

I am fully aware that it is advised not to drive directly after, or even the same day as trancing ?(when sufficiently deep), but even two days after not listening this effect is still lingering around.

If one was to visit an professional hypnotist, how would this be handled? The hypnotist could hardly tell every client to come via public transportation, be driven, or walk there. That would probably disqualify a significant amount of potential "customers".

If it could do that to you, it can undo it. The only thing keeping you from fixing your brain is you.
