Not a file request, I'd just like some advice.

No hypnosis I have ever tried has succeeded in making me feel sensations. Numbness, warmth, pressure, touch, itching, etc. - I've tried dozens of files that include references to feeling certain things, and none of them do anything for me whatsoever. Maybe I'm not being relaxed enough, maybe I'm just incapable of that level of suggestibility. Either way, it always disappoints me a little. It's gotten to the point where disappointment in not feeling anything will pull me right out of whatever trance I've managed to get into when the hypnotist suggests that I should be feeling something.

Is there something I'm doing wrong here or should I just cut my losses and accept I'm not suggestible enough to get the most out of hypnosis?

Capacity to imagine sensation varies a lot throughout the public. If you get over your disappointment and find files that target other things you enjoy go for it. Don't assume you're doing things wrong if you're not a very suggestable type. There should really be a hypnolist/guide for various sense groups tbh.

 No.37417

It wouldn't be so much of an issue for me if so many files didn't make feeling sensations an integral part of the file's effects - and there's really no way to know without listening to the whole thing most of the time.

I would really like for this stuff to work, but of course any files I've tried to increase my suggestibility have no effect. I'm beginning to wonder if I'm actually capable of being hypnotized at all, or if all I can manage is following instructions (provided they aren't instructions to feel something, of course). Idunno. Regardless, thanks for the response.

If you can handle a male voice hypnotist there is a file I suggest you attempt using. He also has a very deep accent which some can not handle. Regardless, the hypnotist known as V1v3 made a file called "Deeply Fractionated". It is on his website available for downloading for free.

The reason I am suggesting this file is that it was tailor made for people who are having a hard time trying to trance. If it works, it might just be the trick you need to trance with other files. Basically, assuming it works for you, run that file then run whichever file you want to trance to. Theoretically it should make you fall deeper into the second file.

If you can't handle a male voice please say so. I vaguely recall there being a female hypnotist who tried to replicate the file results. I collect files like some people collect stamps or trading cards; so I probably have her file somewhere in my huge collection. The hard part will be finding it through my huge folder set.

I really appreciate the suggestion, but fractionation is something that just does not work for me at all, male or female voice. I struggle with trancing to people with heavy accents unfortunately, and I do prefer female vocals - even TTS is fine - I just need to understand what's being said generally speaking.

As a small addendum: any time a hypnotist says "deeper than you've ever been before" I wince. I'm not here to compare the depth of trances like some sort of psychological depth guage. I hear that a LOT in files with fractionation.

Thank you for offering help, I don't know what to try anymore.

What you are describing is the typical response to those who don't "just fall into trance".

I've hypnotised a few people that - well just took to it naturally. Somnambulism. For them it was almost instantly as real as a waking dream.

The problem with those that don't respond in that way is communication and expectation.

You might be a little analytical too. Or have a preferred modality of auditory digital.

(see http://www.renewal.ca/nlp48.html for a brief explanation of modalities).

There are also suggestability types. Some respond well to:

"your fingers are stuck together"

(or you might think no they're not and trance is shattered)

perhaps "did you ever play with super glue as a kid? do you remember how it feels slightly warm on the skin and then there is that bit of heat. Maybe when that happened you didn't try to pull your fingers apart until it was too late".

At no time are you told 'stuck'. it's implied.

The files you listen to - can't really tailor themselves to you.

Either you preferred modality, suggestibility.

They can't engage directly with the words and fantasies you have - assuming this is erotic hypnosis - and most importantly can't read your reactions as they happen.

Take a deep breath.

If you don't or you are a bit slow and that hasn't happened before you are being told to take another - it just jars out of reality.

Finally last two points.

No file you listen to is going to touch you. kinesthesia is an awareness of the body. The moment the hypnotist can move an arm or stroke the hair on the back of your neck - touch matters.

If you've got a partner try getting a book on massage and encouraging each other to relax while doing the massage.

Not every sense is equal.

I still find visual hallucination and dreams difficult but kinesthesia much easier.

Go see a real life hypnotist, get hypnotised.

Look at doing some mindfulness and meditation.

Finally, practice.

Hypnosis is a skill.

If you don't know how to dance then you probably don't expect to accurately perform the Tango without practice and training. That involves a talented partner.

Practice hypnosis with a talented and skill hypnotist if you want to get better at it.

Once you know what works for you and trance happens - then go back and revisit files.

IMO, most files of under 15 minute duration are intended to be JOI. They might focus on a fetish (which could be erotic hypnosis) but they're just there to get you off.

NLP has been discredited for decades as lacking in experimental evidence and testable hypotheses in general. I know what marketed self-help bullshit looks like and NLP reeks.

I get that you're trying to help, but I'm not here to indulge pseudoscience. Before you say people call hypnosis pseudoscience, you should understand that the scientific consensus leans towards hypnosis being a real, altered mental state. Most importantly, hypnosis offers testable hypotheses (and the success of those testable hypotheses have led to hypnosis being used clinically and successfully by medical professionals). NLP doesn't offer testable hypotheses save whether or not it worked as advertized - and the results are pretty much unequivocally negative in that regard.

Perhaps NLP has use to individuals as a philosophy, but, as a scientific description of human thought and by extension as a method of therapy, it lacks the evidence I would need to consider it seriously.

I agree that shorter files are generally not useful, and I try to avoid them.

Your take away from that was a critique of NLP - I presume because I raise the topics of suggestibility type and modalities and included a link that explains them on a NLP related site.

Admittedly I didn't thoroughly vet that site.

Whether that is NLP pseudoscience I've personally hypnotised enough people that those two models work for me.

Assuming you are the OP.

I was trying to encourage you to see a skilled hypnotist for some in person sessions.

Yes I am the OP, not sure why it doesn't say so. I switch wifi networks a lot when I'm on my phone, and that's how I post here, so that may have something to do with it.

Sorry if I came across as hostile, it's just the link you provided reads like an ad, and it's followed immediately by ads for questionable-looking books which are implied to contain the rest of the information I need to actually get something out of it. Add in a bit of research into what NLP really is and it set off a bunch of my bullshit alarms.

I wish seeing someone in person was feasible, but it just isn't. I want to try text hypnosis one on one,

and I've had some success with text hypnosis in the past so I know it works for me. I think that will be my next step - just got to find someone willing to work with an (involuntarily) difficult sunbject.

 No.37610

Hi OP, i had similar problems starting out, here are my thoughts on the matter:

A big part of Hypnosis is how relatable you are towards what the hypnotist is describing. For example, if you have never penetrated a vagina, you dont know what it feels like, you dont know the sensations. So even when a hypnotist describes the feelings (hot, wet, etc..) it is extremely difficult for the listener to follow along, and will likely weaken the trance, because its not something you can relate to.

Similar thing with sensations, except its kind of a mind game. You might know what warmth, or itch or pressure in a certain area of your body feels like; but when you are lying in bed being told to feel these sensations, your mind knows that there is nothing around you that will cause your body to feel that way. again making it difficult to imagine.

Try listening to "guided erotic fantasies" or anything that is basically a narrated story of a fantasy you like. And if those sensations are mentioned, try not to think about them too much and focus on your breathing. It takes practice and a little bit of "role play" on your part.
