>On a side note, what could I do to improve this?
It is easier if you got someone to pose for you btw, if you need a certain expression. You can take pics and use them. I remember in school we worked with humans as 'models'. Not only humans were drawn but all types of templates - busts, reliefs, puppets, and actual items from very simple to complicated (think of different materials).
As an alternative for sketching 'live' poses you could use 2d backgrounds (photo, drawing), maybe as a separate layer placed to one side. Then you would copy the pose next to the background and train yourself to stick to the original as good as you can. There are tons of wallpapers to be found with a person or figure or an object to one side for you to start. Try to always use an original that is shown at min mostly 'full-body', to get a feeling about perspective, position and proportions.

(watch shoulder area, and how left arm is slightly covered by upper body.)

(look at legs and perspective, good position to define dimensionality and volume. Even if dress colour is cancer one gets the feeling this guy isn't 'flat' but voluminous. Also look at shadows here. Light coming from right side, right upper leg and hips area covered. Upper body area is shit because protection though.)
You can start with real people, because any 'artificial' figure you might draw lateron is easier to create if you know what has to be different to the authentic human motif (e.g. longer legs, smaller hips, bigger eyes…).

(diff should be clear by watching this)
A note about your pic >>9548: take a look at right arm (the one covering the chest). The shoulder area is unnatural, looks like shoulder is pushed away.
The second one >>9552, >>9567 is quite good tbh. The right shoulder pointing downwards, for the arm to rest on hip would be an improvement. Also hips should point to the right >>9552, indicated by the trousers.
Similar shoulder and hip poses:

(shoulders aren't horizontal, even here they're going slightly downwards, think of a coathanger)
Highly unnatural variants:
