Well, when patreon was just starting it turned a blind eye to adult content. Now that they have a stable foundation, and got known, they are shovelling out everything that may tarnish the site's reputation. All in all people shouldn't have expected much from a site trying to maximize it's own benefits.

Doesn't look like a ban wave just the same old putting sites under review to release them later again. They have been doing that now for some time.
