Devs have to take many hints from Nip VNs.

-never show the male character except sex scenes

-get rid of all the other male characters except maybe a token male friend, you're not making a gay game

-stop the mini game nonsense, collecting little secrets on the screen or things like that, it's a VN!

-not so much walking around with maps and menus, that shit is boring as fuck and kills immersion

-earlier and longer sex scenes and much more of them, every patreon dev makes a game with a billion foreplay scenes and once it comes to sex the game ends. In a jap game the first scene is already sex and you still have a million scenes after that, also a scene is not only two sentences and than finished like in the Patreon VNs. Every of these games has these scenes, where a woman tells you how extremely horny she is and starts jerking/blowing you after two exchanges of dialog the mc is finished packs up and the woman is cured of her hornynes without cuming.

I learned it by accident when I was lazy and did an event without the male character model, only in the first person with the girl obeying the player's orders. The result was so much better than the rubbish I usually do that I decided that my next whole game is going to be like this.

There's literally nothing to this at all. Everyone's instantly gone after the first day. No events or actions in any form, never mind sex. All you can do is cycle your job. Oh, and if you scroll the mouse wheel, YOU CAN GO BACKWARD IN TIME AND UNDO YOUR DECISIONS. The fuck is that?

That's how Ren'Py works, fam. It feels a little cheap, but it's effectively the same as just being able to save and load the game repeatedly. They're called visual NOVELS for a reason, it's more of a book reader than a game.
