I'm desperate for some love. If I become a furry will I receive it? Do I really need a furry suit?

How much love do you want? If it's just friends, most furries will accept you for who you are so you can make those friends online, if you cast your net out far enough, you're bound to catch SOMETHING, right? If you want actual IRL hugs, then you need to go to a fur con but you don't need a fursuit. Fursuits cost thousands, bro.

I mean, furries seem to be one of the more welcoming and friendly sub-cultures online, but I wouldn't say it's worth it.

>furries seem to be one of the more welcoming and friendly sub-cultures online

this is a pervasive myth. furries will never make any effort to actively welcome you into their communities. if you force your way in by being loud and extroverted, or buy your way in by spending loadsamoney on art or a suit and taking pictures you'll get attention, otherwise you'll fade into the background.

Only in terms of if you're looking for popularity more than friends.

 No.84340>>84406

>>84286

So true, they are the most cliqueish people I have ever seen. Furries will make you feel welcome if you mesh with their pack but if you don't they will avoid you like the plague. Don't go to conventions alone unless you are a social butterfly. It is basically an extension of the internet, and if you don't know a lot of people online then you'll probably not get a chance to know them.

 No.84373

Considering you can be the most mentally and sexually depraved degenerate and still have people mindlessly defend you, would mean that yes, you'll probably get the attention you're looking for.

> furries will never make any effort to actively welcome you into their communities

I've never experienced that. But I suppose it depends. I've been welcomed, as have friends, but welcomed with friendship, not with popularity. But neither I nor friends who got into this stuff expected to become popular.

>>84340

They can be cliqueish, it's true. If you're gregarious and can chat up random people comfortably, though, you'll be fine at a furcon.

Again, though, it depends on what you want, OP. Friendship? Yes. Popularity? That takes lots of work. Love as in friends, yes. Love as in free sex everywhere? The stereotype isn't all that true. Love as in twoo wuv? Maybe, but that, too, takes time and effort, just like it does anywhere else.

I'm always convinced people who say furry is great for making friendships are the kind of people who think

Fox has joined the chatroom

[10:00] Fox: Hi!

[10:05] Wolf: Hi! :3

[10:08] Fox: How r U?

[10:13] Wolf: Good hbu?

[10:14] Fox: Good :3

[10:19] Wolf: What r u up 2?

[10:21] Fox: not much u?

[10:26] Wolf: same xD

[12:43] Fox: gtg bye

[13:10] Wolf: bye

Fox has left the chatroom

Is the kind of conversation close friends have.

Or talk about weather, or talk about doctor who, or talk about popufurs.

I mean...What love do you want? Do you want casual sex or are you just one of those dudes that need a friend in their life?

no

Nah mate, listen. Kind of person ya just described? They call those NPC's as of late. Meme term. Kinda folks who don't show emotion. Or maybe they just ain't good at conversing. Either way, not the kinda blokes you wanna hang with, ya know? Lotta good mates out there to be buddies with. Ya just gotta find em.

That's what 99% of conversations among irl friends go too, you know. Just remove "talk about popufurs" and replace with "talk about popuathletes".
