I got to see a lot of Roarey on InkBunny. He just posted near-constant rants, always on the most hot-button social or political issues and always on the "you're all just stupid snowflakes who need about fifty whacks with the clue-by-four" attitude... and then he'd flip his lid when anyone (a) disagreed, even politely, and/or (b) suggested that maybe, just maybe, InkBunny isn't the right place for political ranks (but FREE SPEECH!)
I won't get into left-wing vs. right-wing, who's correct and who's off their rocker or whatever. But Roarey played the stereotype of the hardcore politics/social nut, on the conservative/libertarian side in his case. And everything was cranked up to 11... and he'd call IB staff all sorts of delightful stuff when they, too, opined that the site isn't really the right place for soapboxing.

Inkbunny journals are a cesspool of IRL nonsense. At best, people use them as a version of twitter, giving short updates about whatever inane shit is going on in their life, or what they're currently thinking of. At worst, people bring in heaps of drama like politics, their family sob stories, reasons why they're poor, claims that they will leave the site because [reasons], stories about past sexual encounters (sometimes as children), and frequent discussion about their current sex life --- including sometimes IRL porn pictures. There's also at least one that is basically a suicide note (in this case, a writer/artist let everyone know he was about to be V& and wouldn't let it happen to spare his family, shortly before eating a pistol). I find it odd that — on a fantasy website that tries so hard to ensure everyone knows its fantasy by taking steps like disallowing drawn human content — the owners/mods don't even pretend to discourage this sort of thing.
Really, journals should probably be avoided for your own sanity. At least the comment sections are usually devoid of much worse than short RPs and comments so overtly sexual directed at the picture content, that they'd make Ratte self-combust.

Something I wish would happen in our "justice" system? If someone is proven innocent in a court of law, the plaintiffs (even if it's the State) should have to pay some kind of recompense. Like if you accuse someone of raping you, and it's proven in court that they did not, you are therefore a liar and have defrauded the court, and you should fucking go to jail. Or if the State accuses someone of committing a murder, and they are proven innocent, they have wasted the court's time and dragged the defendant through the mud, and so they should be forced to not only pay all the defendant's legal fees, but also compensate them for lost wages and also pay a "fine" to them depending on the level of the accusation (for murder, it would be in the millions).
Because the way it is now, people have zero to lose from making frivolous and baseless accusations. Even if they are later shown to be complete fucking liars, nothing happens to them. Proving slander these days is almost impossible. So there's no reason for them NOT to do it.

Sexism is not a one-way street. Society is, by different measures, sexist to BOTH. Yes, women are treated like princesses and men are treated like garbage; but there is still a wage gap in the same jobs, and women are still preyed upon in the workplace in a way that men won't have to deal with. Some men being forced to unfairly pay child support is balanced out by those who successfully run away from their children leaving destitute single mothers.

I've seen it done. Often it's not the exact same job, but close enough. They do things like make the woman shift manager and the man assistant manager, and then she's actually doing more managerial work while the man is basically just checking up on her and reporting to the general; but he still makes more because he's higher on the "ladder". And when it comes time for promotions, guess who's going to be tapped to be the next general? Yeah.
I'm not saying it's universal (and I've seen it happen for minorities other than women, too) but denying that it's possible is idiotic. Those are definitely two different jobs. Whether or not the assistant manager being paid more is justified, I can't really say- since I don't know either of them, how well they do their job, or who's been pursuing promotions more aggressively.
It's certainly possible for someone to get away with breaking anti-discrimination laws, but it's pretty rare and the risk of getting caught is to much for the overwhelming majority of potentially sexist/racist/whatever business owners to even bother.
>If you think businesses (especially small businesses) are moneygrubbing assholes who mistreat every employee as much as they're able and give them pennies for their slave labor, you're either blind or don't work.
Most aren't- but you don't go and start a business so you can lose money. They do tend to pay people as little as they can without potential employees going elsewhere for work. That's why certain jobs pay more- no one works minimum wage for a job with a limited talent pool, but since everyone can flip a burger at least in theory that skill is considered less valuable and is harder to bargain with.

Just because you don't hear about it doesn't mean it doesn't happen. You must be living under a rock, or else in some wonderful country where workers still have rights. How often is someone able to PROVE that they were wrongly discriminated or terminated for [reason]? The employer can just fire them, and put on paper that they are doing so for some other reason, and they're free and clear. And how many people can afford to just quit their job? And once they do, how many people can afford to take their employer to court?
You're living in a fantasy land where the law actually applies equally to everyone, and is automatic and instant instead of having to go through years of red tape. It's not THIS land, that's for sure. Or do you still think if a poor black man and a rich white man go to trial for murder, they'll get the same sentence?

Most college graduates actually end up working in fast-food. People are hired based on nepotism, not actual skills. Your rose-colored-glasses view of the world makes it completely obvious that you're still in high school or college and have completely bought into this nonsense that once you've graduated you'll be set for life with a good career.
Here's the thing. Whether you work in fast-food or not doesn't matter. If you do (which I don't, by the way) then nobody has more than a high school degree or GED or are dropouts, so they're all equally replaceable. But if you have a job that requires a college degree, EVERYONE ELSE BESIDES YOU will also have one. So you're still just as equally replaceable. Don't you get it? Any retard with enough spare cash can get an "education" and employers know that. They don't value it worth SHIT anymore. That's why every job posting requires years of experience. Not skills, EXPERIENCE.
And when you graduate, you won't have any! So enjoy flipping burgers, kid. Meanwhile, some high-school dropout that started out flipping burgers four years ago will be your manager. Funny how that works.

I mean, the owner being openly homophobic and not bothering to deny this affects company policy (re: hiring) isn't exactly "faux". But it's understandable that people who think they are God's Chosen Chicken Sandwich don't care much about things like that.

>private entity
Debatable. No business is entirely private unless it's literally a business of one person: the owner. Otherwise they have employees from the public, who HAVE RIGHTS.
They also have public stockholders, which they are harming by limiting their potential profit by not being open on Sundays. This sort of shit simply wouldn't fly outside the USA and their "muh religious freedoms!" bullshit. If you think about it logically, it's clearly a violation of best practices.

>they have employees from the public, who HAVE RIGHTS
Correct, and said employees can choose whether or not they wish to work for an entity with a specific set of protocols. The same can be said for investors. Nobody is forced to work for or invest in chik-fil-a, they do so because they want to.
>This sort of shit simply wouldn't fly outside the USA and their "muh religious freedoms!" bullshit
Weird, I seem to recall Muslims raping and butchering Europeans while said Europeans do nothing to stop them. Keep it up though, I'm sure if you cry loud enough Bernie can still win.

>being closed on Sundays is RELIGIOUS TYRANNY
If that's really what you mean, it's quite the cynical interpretation.
Really though, being closed for religious holidays or the Sabbath isn't really a big deal. I'd say it's a positive thing, as the employees at that business end up with some free days off that don't cut into their normal allowance of that. I'm pretty sure that isn't a practice limited to the US, otherwise the world actually is the specific brand of merciless capitalist dystopia Marxists think it is. though corporations pulling shady shit for ideological or political reasons as a form of subversion of capitalism or libertarianism is far more common than I'm comfortable with
>"muh religious freedoms!" bullshit
Is an essential part of a free society. Remember that religious freedom guarantees freedom of nonbelief as well. Without it, there'd be no legal issues with slaughtering atheists or agnostics by the millions. Which has happened before in certain nations I'm sure you're aware of. Mostly a thing associated with medieval Europe and Asia though.

At least a few EU countries seem to be getting fed up with the status quo for better or worse, so there could still be hope on that front. Though article 13 and the rest of that copyright nonsense does put a damper on those hopes, and ruins the European internet as well.

>You can always choose to work somewhere else, so if I take away your legal worker's rights, it's okay
That's not how it works. I can't fathom what kind of deep idiocy might have led you to think that's how it works. That's like a car company being allowed to sell cars that randomly explode and kill the occupants, because you can always choose to buy a different brand.
>>82726
>being closed on Sundays is RELIGIOUS TYRANNY
No, more religious nonsense. Religious TYRANNY is: "I am allowed to mutilate my children's genitals because my religion says to do it, and under law you can't stop me from 'practicing' my religion"... "oh, but it only applies to MY religion, not anyone else's."

Not what I said. Don't change the argument. I was countering the claim that a company can do whatever it wants to its workers because they could just work somewhere else.
So either you're an idiot who jumped into someone else's debate without understanding, or you ARE the other guy, and you just avoided the argument completely. Which means you conceded it. Hard to tell, because you morons are all alike.

Well unfortunately opposing circumcision makes you an anti-Semite in the eyes of burgers. Even though the religion most of them follow explicitly says they don't need to do it. Even though most circumcision there aren't done on jews for religious reasons but on christfags and goyim for shitty pseudoscience secukar reasons.

Americans usually ARE anti-semetic. Circumcision hasn't been a Jewish concern for a long time; it passed into the Grand American Tradition a century ago. And you still encounter a LOT of them who wear their scar like some bizarre mark of pride, thinking it makes them better than Europeans. It's funny how easily religious brainwashing can be transformed into nationalist brainwashing. Cut half of your kid's dick off, or you're no true patriot!
