That seems kind of ridiculous. My fursona evolves and changes slowly as I do, because I've actually shaped it like an actual persona what represents myself in an anthropomorphized world/culture. No art of previous iterations is "wasted" in that it served and serves its purpose as art: something to be appreciated. It's just that as I grow older and change, I can appreciate how I've changed and how I represent these changes through my fursona.

For others who aren't autistic about the persona like I am, then art would still not be wasted because it can still be appreciated, even if it's not "your fursona" at the time. Even though I generally cherish the art I have that was made just for me, I also love a lot of art about characters that are in no way "mine".

Really, if you think that something like art can be wasted, then you're not really the kind of person that should be spending money on art.

I have certainly heard of many diehard zoophiles who played the victimized card, but furry is something much more permeable in pop culture - much of it is founded on sci-fi aspects apparent in pop culture already. However, as it permeates pop culture, there are a lot of "qualified" non-furries - they don't specifically prescribe to the 'furry culture' for various reasons, but qualify as a furry themselves because their interests align with anyone that isn't just in it for sexual repression.

As an example on how there are certainly a lot of "qualified" non-furries - I overheard some younger coworkers talking about Homestuck, which features a character that ironically likes pictures of big bara horses with gigantic dicks. The pictures are blurred out whenever it comes up in the comic, but by his existence, that means these younger coworkers have, at some point, seen bara horse cock. The fact that they can still speak of Homestuck in a positive light speaks magnitudes.
