I didn't hate it but it was poorly made enough and lacking of content to be considered bad. There wasn't any path exclusive content (minus the robot which you will get after you get the true ending and the stone which heals you after battle). All you do fight the same five enemy types.
The ending says that you fought to the death, it was a narration. The ending said that you fought the cat, it was a narration. The ending said that you fought the cat, the rabbit, and the toad; it was all just narrated.
Not to mention that the game is bloated and buggy. The PC controls are shit and the gamepad controls are also questionable. There are only three swords in the game and you switch swords using the d-pad. Instead of assigning a sword to each direction, you have to cycle them from left to right.
This would be fine is the story was good but it isn't. It is one of the weaker versions of the groundhogs day type plots. A good example would be Zero Escape: the Nonary Game (or 999). Apparently the fox got a magic that gives magic "Return from Death" powers which didn't work for the rabbit child for some reason. Then we abrupt time skip from a character who was already living a medias res. Then he meet a long time friend that we never met before which also turns out to be a traitor. Then he fucks up a couple of times to learn something. Then he complete his boring one dimensional romance plot with a dash of unnecessary tragedy. Only for the Toad to kill himself by using a device that consistently destroyed the universe when the fox uses it. The game also had some snippet randomly lying around for some reason which talks about how the Toad wants to bring back the humans or something.
