All this lazy, half-assed, art and wasted potential disgusts me. This thread will be all about realistic drawings, of anthropomorphic animals. Meaning,

no fur that looks like latex,

no scales that look like marshmallows,

no big heads and eyes(unless the animal naturally has it),

no cartoony,

No tits on non-mammal,

no anime shit,

no human with a muzzle and fur tacked on,

drawings depicting fornication are allow, but they must be beast folk in it.

We'll be talking about physiology and biology of various beast folk and what type of environment could create them.

Would the Frog folks of the Reeds be able to grow a dick and or vagina?

How fast can a Kobold with both a large femur and Digitigrade's run?

Does that fact that only humans can produce sweat, increase or decrease our appeal to beast folk?

And on an unrelated note, why isn't there more fan art of the book, West Of Eden? A book that has Dino folk, fucking people.

Cartoony stuff has been a bad habit of mine. My issue is that I'm trying to find a good mix of making it human like and animal like. I don't really want to rely on tutorials because I don't think they're reliable. What are some good descriptive books to learn when it comes to animal anatomy? I found a few good ones.

Alright, a good thread!

>Does that fact that only humans can produce sweat, increase or decrease our appeal to beast folk?

I've never thought of that before.Obviously, I think any amphibious race would enjoy this aspect of humans. Compounded with the fact that they are cold-blooded would make humans a very accommodating partner for them. Otherwise, I think the accompanying smell of sweat might be undesirable for most other beast races.

>And on an unrelated note, why isn't there more fan art of the book, West Of Eden? A book that has Dino folk, fucking people.

Technologically andvanced dino society meets primative humans, this sounds like a good book.

I looked at an excerpt from West of Eden.

>The Yilanè, having had millions of years of civilization, have a very advanced society primarily based on a mastery of the biological sciences, especially genetic engineering, so much so that almost every tool and artifact they use is a modified lifeform. Their boats were originally squids, their submarines are enhanced ichthyosaurs (here called uruketos), while their guns are modified monitor lizards which eject projectiles using pressurised gas.

This triggers the /k/ and /sci/ in me. How about designing mechanical weapons that could fit them? Like a stronger trigger pull or different weapon attachments?

 No.56491>>56493 >>56551

>>56477

I imagine sweat would be good at showing off the curvy because it gives a nature glossy sheen, not unlike latex. Also being covered in lubricant during intercourse, would no doubt lessen the friction created by the body rubbing together. Also I'd suggest a good deodorant for the smell.

>>56478

>How about designing mechanical weapons that could fit them? Like a stronger trigger pull or different weapon attachments?

They'd have to breed for that, and they don't really use metal for weapons. They based their science off of biology, while we based our science off of physics.

I should read more into it before asking more questions, but those scientific fields tie in together. We both use chemistry and newtonian physics to design our weaponry. Biology is heavily based on chemistry too.

I guess it doesn't hurt to make a "what if" though.

I was going to doubly suggest it due to many animals having particularly strong noses, but then I wondered how many might actually like the smell.

Maybe they find the familiar scent calming as opposed to strong unnatural soapy fragrances?

I'd have to disappoint a roommate or something, but it'd be interesting to consider.

At the end of the day. What is or isn't Cartoony depends on how detailed it is like it's texture, and how 1 dimensional it is, and or it's over all shape. Putting little amount of effort into all of this will make it look cartoony. Putting moderate amount into this will make it look like kemono. I'd suggest you at the links here >>56468

Not him, but I agree.

Most people don't draw nor see Dragons as reptilian beings anymore. We now see them as mammals which can explain why paws are often drawn on them. Furries in particular always draw Dragons with canine/felid anatomy and will argue that they are Therapsids, a mammal precursor.

The definition of what a Dragon is has changed dramatically in the past decade. As I said earlier, they are very mammalian.

You're a salty little bastard aren'tcha?

That "rock" you're talking about? Yeah, You are the one living under it. Wake up and smell the coffee. Really though, most people nowadays do draw Dragons with paws. That is an objective fact, so do some research. They're not lizards anymore.

Just get over it. They're fantasy creatures. People can draw whatever they want on them. Paws are popular and perfectly acceptable.

>People can draw whatever they want on them

Correct, which means drawing them with NOT PAWS is also perfectly acceptable.

And nobody draws them without paws these days. Your point?

Paw pads on dragons are disgusting

but

This entire thread is just a circlejerk over some anon's perception of "totes good art" that caters to his subjective standards of quality. If it were anything else he would have just called it a "furry physiology/sociology" thread but instead got under a high horse about fictional artistic/worlbuilding choices that particularly schism his 'tism.

Drawing dragons with paw pads is fine. If this were a quality thread you might consider discussing the evolutionary mechanisms that may lead to such a creature. But it's not.

>dragons with pawpads are fine

>dragons with pawpads are disgusting

Well, which one is it?

If we apply real world biology to a dragon, paws and pawpads wouldn't work for many obvious reasons. That being if a dragon did exist, it would be of the sauropsida group like birds, dinos and reptiles. Neither of these creatures have paws.

Paws are also part of a canine/feline's metabolism as an alternate way of extracting heat from their bodies. The heat is extracted through the pawpads.

The only people who draw them with pads are autistic furries like yourself.

Literally everyone else is drawing them as reptiles.

I don't even have an issue with some people drawing shitty dog-dragons, anyway, so long as you don't autistically act like they're supposed to be that way.

I said it was disgusting, but fine to draw. Because drawing is about imagination. Often tempered by principle, but not necessarily.
