The backstory on this alone is insanity.
Like I know he was selling the character (This isn't some adopt it has multiple images let alone an entire account) because he was short on cash, but he should have stepped in and not let it get so high, even 550 was an unreasonable starting bid.
But Muriat wanted to show he was a good goy who will help a fellow furfag out kept up the bidding spree for some unknown reason, he was already popular so it made no sense for him to make it go so far.
In the end, if this was an attempt to gain more popularity to say "Hey everyone look how generous I am" then it backfired horribly with how much negative attention it garnered. To the point he won't even upload his own commissions anymore and wiped his gallery. Which adds to the reason why he wouldn't possibly do that because of how nonsensical it would be to gain popularity in such a way.
We can guarentee this wasn't a gesture of friendship either because as soon as the auction was over Patto didn't even help Muriat out when he was getting trolled, not a single courtesy journal or mention on his profile and just went on like business as usual.
There are so many layers to the insanity that was this auction.
