However, I admit it's scummy to be an ebegger too, I have a Patreon and I get $9 per video which I greatly appreciate but I never claim like 'oh I'm not gonna be able to make rent' and shit.

Most people are completely incapable of handling money. Usually if you give someone a fat stack of cash, they'll immediately blow it on stupid shit and then be back to poverty levels. If they often struggle with money then they'll never learn to save or preserve it instead of spending it the same way they normally would.

Never give money to someone unless you're getting something it's worth back, especially if you do not know that person IRL.

Patreon needs to fucking die anyway. Furries use it as a paysite.

I'm only bothered by the word "donation" being used to describe it. It's more of a purchase than a donation. It's meant to pay for their time via crowdfund.

They put enough time into their work they can afford luxury, because their audience sees their service as being valuable enough for such wealth. This is not an invalid transaction, and no one is harmed by it.

Because it's actually not the easy. Being able to emotionally manipulate people at that level is a skill that, for the most part, you have to be born with. Same as being able to become a CEO or salesperson. It's especially impossible for anyone on the autism spectrum because they can't understand subtle emotions, and so can't lie to people or express themselves in ways other than logic. It also makes them incredibly SUSCEPTIBLE to this kind of manipulation; as they are always literal and exact with their speech, they subconsciously assume everyone else is, too. It means that if someone shows up blubbering about being broke because of whatever reason, they're more inclined to believe them.

Because they only THINK they're only affected by logic. No human being can completely remove their emotions unless they're full psychopath. Autistic people actually have extremely powerful and reactive emotions, but by the time they are adults they learn to repress them so they don't go around screaming all the time like autistic kids do. Being repressed, they forget they are there.

A good emotional appeal always has a grain of rationality to it, just like a good lie has a grain of truth to it. If you concentrate on that tiny bit of logic, you're fooled into thinking that is what's swayed your decision, when it's really the sob story tugging on your heartstrings, and the logic is faulty. The issue is, the subconscious emotional reaction is preventing you from recognizing the fault in the logic. This is the same thing that happens to everyone, but with autistic people they think they won't be affected, so they can't analyze their own reactions properly.

A normal person might step back and think, "Wait, is this guy for real?" while the autistic person thinks, "My mind only works through logic; I can't be emotionally manipulated."
