hey /fur/

I've always wondered why Furries often show up where technology is common (Encrypted Chats, Linux groups and such)

Have you noticed that in any way to?

What are your thoughts and theories?

I'd really say it's just confirmation bias, along with it being a really noticeable thing. It's really hard to not notice some guy with a neon fox avatar. Though there's probably more than you see though. All the furries I know don't have their furfaggotry on their "tech" identity, myself included. It's nice to compartmentalize identities sometimes.

Yeah, i also see everywhere developeing, furries.

Programming e621 bots and stuff

 No.25853

Could be said that a certain type of person is more susceptible to furfaggotry and a certain type of person is more susceptible to tech communities.

 No.25902

It's entirely possible that there is a correlation between the ability to more easily abstract beauty to non-human entities and the ability to compartmentalize information.

Or maybe the only kind of nerd that remains so removed from human interaction that they can learn a programing language for fun is also likely to fall down the /d/generacy hole and land on furry.

 No.25905

Nerds have always had unusual hobbies. They like board games, they like video games, they like comic books, and they like cartoons. For some reason, nerds find an appreciation for art and/or culture typically reserved for kids. Paleontologists still love dinosaurs and engineers still love robots. The correlation between this and furries is hard to miss, but of course correlation doesn't imply causality.

Or it could be that nerds are simply the people so detached from normie culture that they are able to indulge in unusual hobbies like board games and furry.

The original furries were a bunch of classic nerds from those sci-fi conventions in the 80s with a particular interest for science fiction stories with anthros.

40 years later we turned into a bunch of horny crazy fucks with a fetish for mascot costumes.

Autists attract autists.

Easier to spot in those fields, and furries tend to be more urban types in general anyway.

Rural types don't tend to go into tech fields, much.

 No.25937

>>25902

There is such a correlation. It's called autism.

 No.25966

>>25937

As someone who has autism, this is pretty demonstratively false. Whatever "compartmentalizing information" is supposed to mean, I find math and programming to extremely boring.

It also has nothing to do with abstract beauty; I just really, really like dicks and whatever is attached to them.

I like that point of view

No, is autism

Just imagine how autistic we will be after more 40 years.

>I can't see worth shit through these fake eyes

>My hands have fluffy awkward gloves on

>I'm covered head-to-toe in flammable fabric

>Maybe I should go work with electricity!

There is some kind of genius going on here, but bless me, I can't see it.

It's just a photo op. He probably snuck the suit into work one day.

Probably smart enough to know god damn insulated, connected and properly bundled wires pose almost zero risk for a photo.

Furries started from scifi with anthro space babes. Internet turned it into an orgy of porn

Can someone who's better at math than I am extrapolate this graph to find out what year autism rates will reach 100%?

>>25846

Keep in mind there are also furries like myself who don't use furry usernames and avatars outside of furry websites. Therefore the proportion of furries in tech is even higher. We have secret agents everywhere.
