One Piece just had the Mink race introduced, and might just be with the crew until the end of the series. It's a delight seeing Oda's design being given the blank slate of anthro.
I will go on record suggesting you avoid re:zero. The main character is an unlikeable moron and they do the unforgivable sin of presenting tons of anthro, and then ignoring them entirely.
Oh, also Gate at least did something thematically with them. Kemono races are basically a repressed group in the fantasy world, and the SDF more or less gains them as major supporters by simply not being horribly evil to them.
Also, what the hell is that OP? I don't recognize it at all.

It's a strange time capsule of a series. It started airing in 1999, and as a flagship series you can see all of the amazing upgrades in production over the years and trends. Kind of like the Simpsons but good.
This unfortunately results in seeing things like massive filler seasons when they caught up with the anime. Some of those early filler arcs were downright painful to watch.
Later the production crew figured out how to pace the episodes to stay more or less in tandem with the manga. This is a double edged sword as you can have episodes that really drag when they're only really addressing some minor point and a series of really good episodes when something happens.
To give you the most extreme example of this, the Dressrosa arc began airing January 2014 and ended June 2016. That's mostly because in the Manga during that time shit was absolutely crazy and there was often times enough going on in a single page to pad out into an episode.
With all that said, it's an amazing series. It takes a bit to get into because the charm is 100% seeing the characters interact once they fill out the crew. Most people say skip the filler because its a LONG series, but you cant skip cannon parts because shit from the first three episodes will come up in episode 300 or so.
Also, on the off chance you don't know. They get Chopper as a crew mate fairly early (before alabastra) and he's absolutely adorable. People get weird powers from eating fruit in the series, one set is getting to turn into animals. Chopper isn't a human that ate the reindeer fruit but a reindeer that ate the human fruit. He's an odd combination of intelligent but super gullible and naive.

At best they let you see more character interaction.
Cannon shit DOES come back later, but so far nothing from the filler does.
Though the last two filler arcs were great, they were just 4 episode mini-stories that let you get to see more of characters. Bartolomeo getting to hang with his heroes was great and I'm in support of anything that puts more Carrot on the screen.
I just hope Oda keeps the mink around. Which, by story line reasons they SHOULD be around for pretty much the rest of the series.

One piece fillers are a lot more fun and interesting than the typical stuff you expect from anime fillers, and feels more like something Oda might make himself. But be aware that OnePiece is fucking long, so you better be ready to binge watch if you want to catch up.

80 episodes in is kind of a lot, but realize that pretty much every crewmember has an associated arc to introduce them.
If you want to get into it, I could actually suggest getting the Pirate Warriors game. It condenses the story down quite a bit and keeps most of the important bits. top lel, that's like the furry version of Legend of Black Heaven.
ex-rawker salaryman dad gets abducted by aliens to power their sekrit SDF-1 style battlecannon which only works with music and the original band pulped themselves in a feedback loop. In the end he resigns from the band and leaves hot ayylium waifu to return to fat dumptruck wife and unappreciative music-hating emo son who destroyed his million dollar guitar during the first ep. Because "he learned to accept real responsibility."

"Our story follows a half-man, half-beast mercenary; humans mockingly call his kind the "fallen beasts." He always dreamt of becoming a human, but one day, he met a witch who would change his life forever.

The witch probably lacked the ability to do so in the first place, and was just stringing him along for her own selfish reasons. But, over time, she will fall for him in his true form, and become a better person for it.

Overlord is getting a second season, which pretty much means Volume 4 of the light novel is getting animated.
Volume 4 features lizardmen trying to fight off the main character's forces, but the story is mostly from the lizardmen's point of view. They become minor character in the later volumes but still appear now and then (vol 11 specially)
The manga is going through vol 4 right now, if you only care about the lizards you can skip straight to chapter 15 since it works relatively well as a standalone story.

The lizardfolk are great, but I cannot bring myself to like this series, either the anime or the manga. It just drags on forever, never really doing anything but building shit up what is solved in moments, with characters who are either massively dull, or just straight up assholes.
It showed promise, but then it just dropped every reason to care. The main character sits around planning most the time until he just curbstomps whatever was built up, and otherwise he just ignores the shittery around him. His crew are straight up villains for the most part, some of them exceptionally evil, and he does nothing and has no reaction to it.
I get the vibe is some shitter's power fantasy, is what it seems like.
Lizard arc was great, except that the main lot we were supposed to be caring about, the guys we were following, the people who are the focus are the fucking villains and not half as interesting as the minor characters

Those who would be capable of don't stick with the fandom for long. One reason is that they'd rather be employed by an actual studio and when they eventually get offered a job, they leave. The second reason is that the furry fandom prefers siphoning hundreds of thousands of dollars into talentless popufurs rather than artists who know what the fuck they're doing, which is also what the first reason stems from.
This applies to 2D animation. For 3D, there's not even people who are capable of anything, so no point in even arguing that.

I guess you guys aren't wrong. It's not that it's impossible to learn about cinematography or the 12 principles of animation, it's just that a lot of project creators either underestimate or overestimate the scope of a project.
Regardless of the outcome, it still might be a good learning experience though. It's just that we're more likely to succeed if we take a pragmatic approach to it. Like, I think that working with 12 fps with a low resolution and monotone colors (ie: black and white) might make the workoad faster than a 24fps fully colored one. Those resrtictions might help us learn better as they make us focus on the important stuff. (Vid is kind of related, even though it covers live-action stuff.)
I've done a few animations before, but they were just 1-3 second loops, so I'll try seeing what I can come up with myself with those restrictions in mind.

Depends.
Are you planning to pursue a career as a 2D animator?
If not, then do not even bother.
Doing it alone means it's going to suck the life out of you, if you intend to put your mind into it and make a decent product. It means in the end you're gonna have spent a lot of your free time for a couple of likes and thumbs-ups.
If yes, then you're going to actually enjoy the process, but you're still only getting a couple of likes and thumbs-ups, on top of having nothing to put on your actual portfolio.
In both cases, you're gonna wish you had spent your time better. If you delude yourself in thinking you're gonna be able to get funded and make a small profit from your work without being a popufur, I'm sorry, but you'll be greatly disappointed.
Moral of the story? Don't bother doing anything good for this fandom if you have the talent but not the popularity.

Focus of dialogue
Minimal to no action scenes (fighting/etc)
Use camera cuts between static shots to add variation
Focus on subtle animations such as character turning or changing pose
Camera never moves along a scene let alone the environment, only pans to direction a little
No shading, maybe use simple diagonal cast shadows sometimes to give the appearance of light
Either no audio, or male-only cast because there's no girls in this fandom to provide VA
A more practical problem would be finding animation software for everyone.

I can't help but feel that it's a cynical way of looking at things, considering that a lot of stunt choreographers and animators got s lot of industry work through creating niche indie content routinely. Even if it looks silly, it helps a lot with your portfolio and it enables investors to raise the value of your interests. They'll prioritize technical skill more than subject matter. In 2014, this guy made a lot of short animations for Source using Blender. In 2017, he's now working for AAA companies like Respawn.
I get that I won't create a magnum opus and I do understand that I will get criticized, but it's a win/win if you always do something. Being successful the first time is the best ideal outcome, but it's also the least likely outcome. If your movie is bad, then you'll know your weaknesses so you can fix them. If your movie doesn't garner attention, then you would have to participate in communities or continue making them routinely. Even with those bad outcomes in mind, it's not like if you lose knowledge from doing them.
Everyone likes a bad product or a good product as long as it's entertaining.

Furry porn doesn't in the slightest way.
Oooh but you thought anyone in this fandom would give a damn about sfw content.
Noble, but naive.
I bet my life on that if some of the Pixar guys came out of the blue and did their things for this fandom, nobody would even notice.
If I had the skills to create mind-blowing content every few months or so, I'd be driven out solely by knowing that, by the time I'm done, some popufur will have earned enough to buy himself a supercar or two, by doing shit that takes a fraction of the effort and knowledge. Adding insult to injury, maybe even similar content (e.g.: animations).
Materialistic?
Maybe.
But I feel like depreciating my craft and struggling to pay my bills, just to avoid being accused of being materialistic by the very same people who make millionaires out of talentless hacks every other day are much, much worse burdens to bear.
I've seen it happen. There's no point in arguing whether it's true or not. I've seen comments like "OMG WHY IS DIS GUY NOT A BILLIONAIRE YET" under 3D stuff that would drive Ed Catmull himself insane for how bad it was, and bland remarks like "very good, amazing, awesome, fantastic" under digital paints that would make hyperrealistic renders blush for how good they were. All in the furry fandom.
With that said, it is discouraging, but don't be. If you feel strongly motivated to do something involving anthropomorphic animals, please do so, but do not get input from the furry fandom, do not count on it to support you through the process and most importantly, do not pander to it. It's going to save you from many disappointments.

I don't think that they hate SFW content, it's just that porn is a very inclusive genre that resonates with every background because of our biology. A /k/ guy might not like /tg/ stuff and vice versa, but both like sex. Subject matter isn't a huge deal-breaker if you think about it, it just makes people ignore or acknowledge flaws that occur on a technical level. People ignore flaws if they like it and people acknowledge flaws if they don't like it.
I guess that the solution is to make niche content that is done better on a technical level. Anyway, it wouldn't do me good to post too much. There's a good reason why you think the way you do and I fully accept it.

I kind of realized that with her being able to jump up to the crows nest thingy and her natural curiosity and wonder with the world would make her a natural lookout.
I'm also super into the idea of her eating the snow fruit and becoming a snowbunny. It just makes to much pun not to be in One Piece. And she's in her winter colors for gods sake!
Also I want the crew to end up less of a sausage fest and it would be fun to see a combat female.

A furry vore anime - yes, vore, but hear me out.
Voring would be a supernatural ability that is used for good. How it works is when character A eats character B, character B's conciousness and soul gets passed into character A's body. But character A's original conciousness dies in the process. So the eater's body really serves as a temporary vessel that moves between souls.
The story conflict comes from the uncertainty over who actually possesses the ability. There are 3 types of characters:
-Those who possess the ability and selflessly use it for good by seeking out dying and fatally injured individuals to give them another chance at life by eating them.
- Those who do the same as above but actual lie about having the ability.
- Those dying who are unworthy of having their life extended, and kidnap those who have the ability in order to immobilize them and feed themselves to them.

I'm bored so I finde some hot kemono scenes for you.
Before I start, you might look for doujins named "Osamu Tezuka Kemonology 1 & 2". It's only feral and only including characters from Tezuka.
Tezuka made an erotic 1001 Nights movie where a female shapeshifter transforms into animals. Oh yes, he knew what he was doing.
Watch those DA fetish fodder scenes like in the gif:
https://youtu.be/cfZhNVOnn9A?t=4163
1:09:23 The spider scene which is kinda cute.
https://youtu.be/cfZhNVOnn9A?t=4376

https://youtu.be/cfZhNVOnn9A?t=6690
1:51:30 She saves the guy from lions by transforming into a lioness and seducing them.
And not in a subtle Lion King way.
https://youtu.be/cfZhNVOnn9A?t=3238
53:58 Here's a woman slowly turning into a snake.
From another movie, a woman twists her nipple to turn into a horse-like creature with boobs. You heard right. 4:44

To me, shockingly fuckable female slug turns into a gazelle-like creature with boobs. 28:34

The Mink arc isn't filler. Though you'd be hard pressed to believe otherwise with the anime. The manga for that is short, but super super SUPER GOD DAMN FUCKING IMPORTANT. To the point we learn exactly how Roger even intended people to find One Piece, as well as a massive hint as to a person they will find on Raftel. Seriously, between what we have here and White Beard's final words I'm certain that they'll find Gol D Roger, or a copy of him on that island.
The Minks might also just be part of the story from this point on. There's a good argument that we're just going to be rolling along through plot points from this part on. They're all going to be there along with Law for the next arc, and I'm positive at least the leaders are going to tag along to go to Raftel.
Do yourself a favor and just read the manga. The need to have a One Piece episode out every week has absolutely butchered the pace of the series. Fun visuals aside, it can actually be a bit boring to watch.
Also, sadly, the Rabbit is not there for long at all.

Humans are easier AND harder to animate. You are provided with countless IRL reference, and all of those figure drawing classes will come to use. It is HARD because you are constantly afraid to get details wrong and movement wrong.
Furries are easier AND harder to animate. Easier because you don't have to be super accurate, since there is no IRL analog for critical viewers to compare to. Harder because your team of animators are trained to animate the human figure with human proportions only. They are FUN to animate, because you can just relax and go crazy (excuse: animals have different customs and therefore can act and move however they like, unlike us boring humans).
Overall, it depends on the artist. However, if you are doing big scale animation, and working with a team, your team will be most likely proficient in animating humans ONLY, which leads to problems.

Wrong.
It's just a cartoon, you can literally get away with anything. Now, if you were talking about hyperreal CGI, that'd be another story, but this isn't the case.
>Harder because your team of animators are trained to animate the human figure with human proportions only
>you can just relax and go crazy, animals have different customs and therefore can act and move however they like
Make up your goddamn mind.
Overall, animals and furries are harder to animate, simply because your average animator will want to work with plain old humans and the amount of references and documentation for both animals and/or furries simply cannot compete with the sheer amount of studies done on humans.

That was one of the worst movies I've ever seen. Do not watch.
You read a synopsis of this movie and think "wow, that's the most bold and creative premise I've seen in a long time, how could they possibly fuck this up?'. But don't be fooled by the rabbit pictured in 50491; he is present for appoximately 3 minutes of screentime out of a 114 minute movie, and the rest of the "plot" is given similar treatment. The vast majority of the runtime is filled with the antics of a traditionalist human Japanese family as they meander around their house. I'm pretty sure there were at least 3 sit-down dinner scenes in this movie, all around the same table. The most exciting things to happen during this time period include several games of Japanese chess, moving a block of ice to the wrong room, and a grandma shooing her estranged son out of the house for not being honorobru enough. When they finally decide they need to throw another coal onto the "plot" fire they do so by handwaving a bunch of pseudointellectual bullshit about computers (such as a "hacked" MMO universe being denoted by CGI graffitti on the CGI walls, or thinking it's a good idea to defeat a virus by locking its CGI avatar behind a CGI door) and then the big climax of the movie is one of the waifus stepping in and playing Japanese chess with the bad guy until he submits. Never, at any point do they properly explore the "internet universe" beyond a couple of 1 minute fight scenes 45 minutes apart in the same poorly-drawn lobby. What this movie really is is a particularly boring SoL family simulator directed at shut-in 2deep4u millenials who desperately want to experience human interaction beyond reminding their mother through 2 walls that it's Tendy Time. So enjoy your masterpiece, /fur/.

>furry fight scenes are "exploring the internet universe"
Jesus christ, is the furbait literally all you care about?
I wish the internet stuff had been a bigger part of the movie too, but you shouldn't be getting bored the second there aren't anthros getting into fist fights onscreen.
You should probably just watch The Boy and the Beast if that's all you're after.
It's a weaker movie overall despite still being good imo, but the furbait is way more prominent and there's way more fighting which seem to be the only things that keep you entertained so maybe you'll actually like it.

You misread, I never said that furry fight scenes constituted exploring the internet universe. That might be one way to go about it, but they simply don't explore the internet world at all, fighting or no. We see next to nothing of the internet world that is ostensibly such a big factor in this movie, other than the 2 minutes of aforementioned fighting in the lobby. They couldn't be assed to so much as draw a 2nd room for them to visit.
Better question, what exactly was good about this movie? You haven't explained that yet. You made one claim about it having good kemono aspects, which I debunked by clarifying that there's almost no kemono in the movie. So what else did you enjoy?

It just sounds like you went into the movie expecting something completely different than what it was, and couldn't be bothered to do anything than stay pissed off for the entire runtime.
I bet you think NGE is a big pile of shit because it's overrated and "2-deep-4-u", too. Does it make you feel good, disliking things that are universally acclaimed? Hipster faggot.

That means you thought the fight scenes explored it somehow but nothing other than that did.
I'm sorry I won't be able to give you your debate about the movie's quality, but I can't reasonably pick apart a movie I saw twice around six years ago.
I just remembered really loving it back then and thought you came across as incredibly shallow since your misuse of 'beyond' made it sound like the only thing the movie could do to hook you was put animal people fighting onscreen.

You didn't say anything other than summarizing the plot points while deliberately making it sound as shitty as possible. One can do that with any piece of media in existence; it won't make it correct.

That's exactly what I meant. However, just because that's a method of exploration doesn't mean it's the only one; I woulda been happy with anything else. The fight scenes explored it by being set there and interacting with it; it's not my fault they didn't even attempt anything else in the internet universe. I'm not sure how I coulda phrased that better.

So the fight scenes aren't a way to explore the universe
>However, just because that's a method of exploration doesn't mean it's the only one
but they are a way to explore the universe?
I know what you're getting at, I barely remember anything from the movie about the online stuff myself since it was mostly just voiced text conversations by a bunch of anthropomorphic objects and animals when it wasn't a fight scene with the evil AI.
None of which really dug into the interesting advancements the setting had in how the internet was used and what was possible with it.
I'm just saying your wording is confusing.
>I'm not sure how I coulda phrased that better.
Not saying that it doesn't and then it does immediately after might help.
I hate that I can't seriously argue about the movie itself though, and I'm starting to feel bad about derailing the thread over this because of it.
These anime Dededes are the most on topic I can be at the moment.

Nah, feel free to continue as long as it stays civil. I liked the movie because it made me highly empathetic for the characters within. The conflict was meaningful, but I understand the criticisms with how the virtual world is displayed. It's not like any form of media has done it better though. Embed slightly related.

I don't think you realize that the whole internet world was never fucking important to the plot in the first place. The whole point of it was to recognize how much more important things are in reality. It's like thinking the point of Pulp Fiction was about what was really inside that goddamn briefcase.

I do.
It doesn't change the fact that they added something really interesting to the setting without ever really making use of it.
It's like making a thread with an image in the OP more interesting than the actual topic and expecting everyone to ignore it.

That just means your salty because you thought it was going to be a different movie than it was. You're incapable of seeing the forest through your disappointment that it wasn't a different forest. Admittedly my friend did originally try to sell me on it purely with Kazma, if only because it wasn't long after he found out about my furfaggotry.
Even if I do think they initially made the internet out to be more important than it was, it didn't stop it from being one of my favorite movies.
I'm allowed to hate on part of it and still like the whole right?

I didn't think the ending was entirely bad until the narration. A character who maintains complete agency to travel between worlds and leave it completely open and up for interpretation is narrated into a corner that literally is 'he never goes back to the awesome furry world and never does anything interesting again.' if they cut it when he decides to take the college entrance exams my thoughts on it would be entirely different. God damn, I would of killed for the chance to escape to a world of furries in college.
