Did anyone else get the vibe that they dumbed this down for a broader market? It feels like it was directed for the young male quadrant (14-22).
I also learned that they used laser guns in WW2 lol. Can someone explain to me why the director chose to do this? Honestly some shots felt like I was watching RotJ when Han Solo and those little faggot teddy bears were fighting the empire in that stupid forest.
Is it even possible for an American tank to defeat a German Tiger solo? Let alone 300 individual soldiers?
This whole story felt a bit ridiculous at times…
Maybe it's one of those movies where you should turn your brain off and have fun!

I'm not really up on why a certain type of movie gets made, but I expect they want to pull in large groups of people who go out together … which means teenagers and college students.
The group's options are to go bowling or go to a movie or go to a party. The movie doesn't make them think too hard and may resemble carnival ride.

>>3106Yeah your right.
Judging from the preview I kind of felt like this movie was going to be more mature.

Hm, I haven't seen anything about this particular movie
Based on your description I was expecting it to be the dreaded PG-13 action flick but I was wrong

>>3109It was decent and than all of sudden the Germans were shooting green lasers instead of bullets and the americans had red ones.

They're tracer rounds, though it wasn't common to use them outside of special night engagements, it's so that the audience can see the shots.
Also, the Panzerkamfwagen VI Tiger could be destroyed with one correct place shot to it's sides or rear. Also it can bounce the rounds but still kill the crew inside, a thing called spalling, which is due to large amounts of small parts within the tank bouncing off and killing the passengers.
To be blunt this movie had a lot of potential to be the tank version of Saving Privet Ryan, but it kinda let down with it's dumbing down of what ACTUALLY happened in WWII and it's want to be super edgy and show that war crimes were committed on both sides.
7/10 It was good.

>>3806Might have to rewatch it now after reading your post. Thanks for providing info on the laser guns (tee hee)

Those are tracer rounds. But yeah, they were overdone. And a American tank could beat a Tiger.
Movie had it's ups and downs. 7/10.
I really liked the scene inside the home of the German family.

>>3824At first I didn't appreciate it and felt like it was dragged on and on but at the end of the flick I understood why it was done the way it was done. I can't recall a war movie that spent that much time away from the actual fighting and show an almost normal, nice dinner developing and then it's shattered and were immediately brought back to the war.
Well played.

It was a war movie for people who don't want to watch a war movie.
The german family scene was decent like the guy above said and was probably the only one where I could delude myself into seeing the film as something other than a modern action film poorly coated in a world war 2 setting.
I also liked the short scene at the end with the kid underneath the tank.
5/10 for me
