I was once in an erp ttrpg with two guys that knew each other. Furthermore they often visited and even played from the same house just on separate laptops.

I am pretty sure they weren't gay for each other either so I have not the fucking idea how they dealt with it.

I used to ERP with my ex. Honestly? It was better than the sex was. We were together for three years and lived together for two and a half. We were always really open about the nightmare shit we were into and tried each others' kinks and fetishes out for one another.

If by involved you mean you are dating the girl, you should tell her that her ideas for stories are bland to you as nicely as possible. Be reasonably open about kinks and stuff as you get close 'cause you don't want her to find out by accident and you don't want to end up stuck with someone with whom you are not sexually compatible.

I think what's really throwing me off is her drastically different definitions for some kinds of roleplay, meaning that I'd have to redefine everything I know in order to participate.

For example she's apparently into "ageplay". I am too, but our definitions are completely different. To her it means something like "acting cutesy in a more juvenile headspace" but to me means "your partner plays as an underage character while you fuck their brains out".

It's a damn good thing I asked because that's not a good mistake to make around a normie who knows who you are

How difficult is the answer to this? Simply talk to the girl. If your kinks are incompatible, that's that. Tell her what you don't want to do, and ask her to do the same. If there are some in common, or that you'll tolerate, then give it a go, maybe you can even find out that some of her kinks are actually maybes rather than nos. But you have to communicate, and above all not force something when you have no kinks in common.

I started off with jokes with my current partner. The jokes would be super cheesy and obviously jokes so I could hide behind that if it didn't go well and it didn't at the start. She was really against the idea of calling someone daddy. The jokes continued slowly though and eventually she gave it a go and realised she really liked calling me daddy. That progressed further and she has been getting younger and younger in her roleplay. It's fucking great but it took time. Gotta ease them into it.

I know a vanilla as fuck guy who likes hearing about my roleplays. I'm never gonna ERP with him because his spelling and grammar are trash. I wouldn't, like, taunt him with my ERP but he always asks and is genuinely enthusiastic even after I ask if he's sure he wants to hear about it.
