It's not strictly adult and a quarter of them type like they're underage, but I play on "The Gathering…"

There's an entire island devoted to sexual roleplay but since the population doesn't like anything that's not a playerhome or the recall point, it's barren most of the time.

The coder also just recently added a separate nude description that can be toggled on and off, but nudity and sex isn't allowed in public areas - not that anyone's been banned for it yet.

You should consider joining a full on sex MUSH rather than walking a thin line on a non-sex place. Chances are it will be easier to find what you're looking for and you'll find better partners. I'd recommend looking up Naughty Muffin since they are the most newbie-friendly in my experience.

I may have tried Naughty Muffin once upon a time, but my memory of it surely isn't recent or outstanding.

Every other sex-focused MUD or MUSH I tried was too difficult to get into either due to having a high barrier for entry while being unlisted and empty or simply finding out the only regulars are a group of friends loitering about and spouting memes - it's a turnoff when that's the first thing you see after setting up a profile and get ready for a raunchy romp.

Shangrila MUSH has the most people through sheer inertia, but the admins are harsh on anything that even looks like too-young ageplay ("too young" for their standards being under 16), and actively discourage people looking for sandbox play (despite that being what 75% of the playerbase wants) and are generally harsh on OOC communication in general.

Penultimate MUSH is #2 in population after Shangrila (excluding furry-specific places like Tapestries), and has the aim of basically being Shangrila except being overtly friendly to sandbox play, chatting and being social, and (politely handled) niche/hardcore kinks.

It also got a lot of people to leave who had no interest in lolis or playing them, but who were upset by how arbitrary the rules change was after years and years of the previous age limit.

I did some ERP on /tg/MUD back in the day. It was pretty hot, despite the partner getting really clingy.

I fucked around in Shangrila a few times and found some decent play 3-4 times about, but most of the time I just kind of walked around and was a voyeur. (This was more recently after the loli-purge or whatever) Most of my experience with it besides that though has been people idling and basically just using the idle-room or whatever it's called to find partners for stuff in whispers.

I still love the idea of having a MUSH with a giant world to RP/ERP in, but most people seem to ignore the entire world outside the idle room as far as I've seen, granted I haven't looked super hard. I'm also a retard when it comes to MUSH shit, but I'd use the hangout command and most places would only show a max of 20ish people usually with everywhere else being 1-3.

I might have to look into this.

I tried HellMOO a while, kind of screwed myself at first. Wonder if my character is dead and robbed already. I had an apartment, but my rent money is probably all used up.

I got dragged through quests by one of the three people online and I was still lost beyond belief.

Examine everything. Read everything. Talk to NPCs and ask them about anything that is in bold text in their dialogue. And of course check the wiki.
