Chatango used to be fairly active, though I haven't gone there in a while and I heard it's been less populated in general of late. Standards are lower than in F-List, proper grammar and fluid writing are less common, but you can also put less effort on your profile and still get attention and people are generally more chill and make less of a fuss about typefucking, they just want to have some fun.

Seconding chatango, although I have to twist what they say a bit. The population is generally shit tier but I've probably gotten more multi-paragraph players out of it than compared to F-list. A lot more people who don't mind going that extra six and a half hours circumventing sex until they get their brains fucked out.

Reminder, joining is free. I'm guessing they're optimistic about people coming but pessimistic about how many will help keep the lights on. Probably buying more bandwidth than they should reasonably expect to need.

They weren't cliquish as far as I could tell when my availability used to line up with the place. US "timezone," so probably about 22:00 to 6:00 UTC. They were pretty chill. I at least enjoyed the place before I had to stop being a NEET. It seemed like most people were active, just that there was few of them.

For me, Shangrila MUSH is #2 in the list of places to find quality lewds after F-List (though you have to sort through a lot of crap in the same way as there).

What about RPHaven.com? Is that any good? It looks like it has a lot of interesting rooms but from a glance it looks like it'd be a buggy site.

You don't even know the half of it. I used to be a regular years ago and it was a complete mess. The chat itself would often times be broken, then private messages would break at random. Sometimes you'd wind up in complete strangers' accounts.

The interface is not user-friendly and forget about getting any help if you need it. The guy that runs the site is bar none one of the most passive aggressive woe is me shitters you've ever seen. It's a one man show, there is no other staff. All he ever does is send out site wide messages bitching about how his users ought to be kissing his ass and how they should be thankful that he's even willing to put in all the work on it that he does, since it's not something he's being employed / paid to do. There was a significant time period where he was pushing to try and get some sort of erotica game site side project going and left the main site broken and neglected in the meanwhile, threatening to pull support for RPHaven altogether if his users weren't willing to join / support / donate to it.

Once you get past all those issues, what you're left with is maybe a few hundred people as a userbase - although that's being generous and people generally have several alts, so I'd say closer to maybe a hundred actual active users - who usually fall into two or three exclusive cliques, most of which will flat out ignore you if they don't know you. There's tons of e-drama between them, they periodically have falling outs and split into new ones over it, and then the cycle repeats. Outside of this circle are the "Hi luv ur profile do u have kik" kinds of people. In a sense I suppose you could say that it's all pretty similar to F-list in a lot of respects, but at least F-list has a site that functions arguably well, is decently easy enough to use and isn't run by one person with a god complex. It's not worth anyone's time.

Used to play a lot on this site, before I even found /erp/. the quality of the site it self was dropping though, which turn out to be an issue with bandwidth.

The main issue is that unless you have a paid account, then its not possible to enter any room that already have 25 or more users in it.

The main benefit is that there's no need to make a profile at all. Just pick a room, pick a username that you feel represent what role you'll play and then just get into it.

Mind you. it's been ages since I used to play on the site, so I can't say anything about the quality of the current userbase.

The place has a chance of rebounding now since the original owners are back, but if that happens you can't be 80% sure your gutter dive targets aren't legit jailbait anymore.

Is there any play by post forum where people actually try to run threads like in non-lewd place? You know, somewhere where people actually try on some level to run open roleplays in a thread with a setting and whatnot except lewds also happen/are expected.

Everywhere I look it's super obvious that the players are all stuck to the chat or typefucking in private and the only group threads are the "Sexy sex hotsprings/hotel/mansion" type. I've checked out Blue Moon and not only is the open group section a wasteland, the writing is Omegle-tier.

I've had a little bit of luck from Chatango but be warned it's like 90% absolute shitbags who aren't even worth responding to. If you do find somebody good though, and there ar e a few, it's worth it.

There used to be some good ones you could find elsewhere. Aniroleplay had a few 'clone' websites with the same layout dedicated to ERP that were fantastic but none seemed to last more than a few weeks which was a shame. Aniroleplay itself is pretty bad though. ERP isn't actually allowed nor are any even slightly lewd pictures (An image of a female character with big breasts will get removed regardless of context, for example) but pretty much everyone on there does ERP to some degree.

There is, since PMs aren't actively perused by administrava. Someone needs to report someone for someting to happen, and most players list their age in their seeking posts. Expect a lot of players to be in it for Actual Roleplay alongside the lewd, which may or may not appeal.

I used to be a regular too back in 2010-2011ish. The entire site was exactly as you said it was. I've heard rumors about Sadako, but yeah…it's just ran by him. I wish he would hire actual mods/staff to help fix the site up someday, but that'll never happen.

Not to mention no one roleplays at all over at RPH. F-List at least has a staff and roleplayers even if subpar sometimes.

When I still regularly posted on https://www.futanaripalace.com I got involved in a few threads like that, and I think I started one or two myself. I stopped when I realized it was an awful lot of effort to keep them going for more than a few weeks (or even days).

Been trawling through google+ groups lately. It's largely unmoderated but the search is shit, you can't organize your search results when looking for groups and there are no real standards.
