Ship
>Pontoon
Such a vessel will provide the closest to artificial land and is probably the best candidate for the construction of industry. Adventure be damned, I'm building civilization here.
Navigation aids
Although I'm on a barely mobile pontoon, navigation is important. Not because I want to move myself but because others may be in need. Reliable information of an ever changing sea is valuable.
>Ships Log
Although it may take some time to decipher, the experiences of a captain who claims to have figured out patterns in the Endless Ocean may provide us with the ability to map the Endless Ocean. If only we could find someone to aid in figuring out the puzzle…
Features
>Islands
Vegetation? Soil? Both things needed to actually start farming on the pontoon. If we get enough material and can reliably track the islands, maybe making small settlements would be worthwhile.
>Crags
Who know, maybe we might be able to tame a few birds. The crags are also be our key to mining. If we tunnel into them and create mineshafts, we might be able to fine ore or at least have rock to use for construction.
>Kelp Forest
Probably the best area for getting food. The kelp themselves are nutritious but they also bring along life who feed on the kelp. If we anchor ourselves to the sea floor for a while, we may be able to farm enough kelp to last a month.
>Salvage
Probably our only source of metal if the mining idea doesn't work out.
Denizens
>Sharks
Sharks are pussies. Drop some meat into the water, wait for them to gather round then spear the fuck out of them.
Easy food, easy medicine. If that fails, at least we have an effective garbage disposal system.
>Deepwater creatures
Deepwater creatures are pussies. Send down a container full of poison attached to a cable, wait for them to eat it, drag the fucker up, wait for the sharks to gather round, have the sharks die from poisoning and get all the loot. Ships may have a hard time dragging them up because they tip over, pontoons don't have this problem assuming you drag them up through the center.
If that fails, it's probably best to leave them alone.
>Drakes
Drakes are pussies. Ever see that scene from Braveheart where the scots use them big sticks to fuck up the horses? Do the same to this glorified magpie and watch it impale itself.
Easy food. If that fails, we can always just fill bottles with blood, throw them at an enemy ship and watch drakes do all the work for us.
Hazards
>Treacherous Rocks
Practically nullified. The pontoon never be moving fast enough for them to really pose a threat. Random rocks might have uses other than being annoying.
>Fog
Some may see a hazard but I see an opportunity to gather fresh water. It's only water vapor after all…
>Rivalry
If they don't like me they can go fuck themselves.
>Polluted waters
Black flammable liquids? Poison water? This is a gift! Ramming is for idiots, firebombs are where it's at.
Factions
>The Guild of Explorers
They might not be the strongest but they have the most knowledge. Combining their information with that in the Ships Log may provide more insight into the mysteries of the Endless Ocean.
Afflictions
>Feverish
The pontoon will be run by a council. Any spot can be filled in, even mine, when a member is otherwise unable to attend meetings.
Gear
>Revolver
‘You've got to ask yourself one question. Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk?’
Drakes can go fuck themselves. I'm sure we can construct the facilities to manufacture ammunition, the problem is getting the elements to do so.
If we can produce similar weapons, they can be sold for high prices and the pontoon will be practically unassailable
>Water tank
Water without a sanitary place to store it is water wasted.
We need no crane, we can construct our own.
Magical Item
>Sacred Chickens
As has been reinforced throughout, reliable knowledge on a place where everything constantly changes is priceless.
Weapons
>Whalers Harpoon
Sharks, drakes and sea monsters are pussies.
As long as they're in throwing distance, their asses are mine.
