Yeah this is one of those "fuck yourself" kinds of CYOA. You can either get 3 points from each gambling table and CERTAINLY become debilitated, or you can constantly have your realm invaded by pests, or you can totally fuck your realm, or you can declare war on all the other powers simultaneously. Other than that you're not going to have very many powers to work with. Looks like you can squeeze out an extra seven points from threats you can actually end (spawns once, dies once and its over) and can squeeze out one or two from the base, for a total of eight or nine. This means you have a grand total of ~14 points which sounds like nothing because it is nothing. Oh and you'll have to deal with all kinds of horrible shit invading your realm which you can only defend with 10 weakened minions.

Those tables are cool, too, because they are legitimate gambling tables. Do you want to be fucking awesome and have rad tentacle hair? Well roll on the gambling table! Oh, nope, just blindness for you and your entire race. Enjoy that one point, though. Or spend that point to re-roll (effectively just dooming you to some other bullshit AND wasting the point), or spend the point on some way to kind-of sort-of repair it like getting eye flowers. Not all of those fuck-you things can be fixed, though, so you'll end up getting maybe 1 point out of every gambling table with re-rolls, meanwhile you're racking up all kinds of pain. That's maybe another 1 point for black and maybe 2 for the rest. So the final grand total would be 20. Now, if you're insanely lucky you'd instead be getting 3 extra for black and 6 for every other color which certainly pays for everything you could possibly want. But it's unreliable unless you're alright being a blind crazy drunk pervert reclusive vampire with robotic minions who only listen to your direct orders.

Over all I really like this CYOA. The theme is really great, minions and realms are great, the whole feel of it is awesome. It reminds me of Conduit. But dice always fuck me and although I keep re-configuring this build but it really seems like I'm fucked if I don't roll, but if I roll I'm fucked too. Seems like the only safe route is to declare war on heaven for the 2 points in every color and use the Shard of Ullde to fucking kill everyone so they stop bothering you, but at that point you've got to fight everyone so logically you're just fucked, and if you should manage to kill them you get all their powers anyway so what's the point in making any kind of a plan?

In the end I have a moon with every resource imaginable, but me and my spawn are abominations, even if quite powerful. I hope that Shapeshift can fix my physical form and Fleshwarping can be used to fix my spawn. I think that i should be able to deal with Spawn-Cult on my own and with Shape Of Dreams Spawn-Flare will not be that much of a threat. Spawn-Born are negated thanks to Assimilate and both Spawn-Hunt and Spawn-Den are weakened thanks to The Collective Herd. My endgoal would be to build a prosperous civilization, that could conquer other Realms and either expand into real world or, thanks to My Land, replace it.

I start with few spawn, but they spread like a disease thanks to Assimilate. It's a disease most would welcome however, as the only outward sign is those affected become significantly more attractive, which also helps to spread it. There are no further physical changes, my first Spawn start off as human, but later converts will remain whichever species they were to begin with, just better looking.

The real changes are that those who become my spawn are loyal to me, effectively immortal, and significantly less fertile (helps manage the immortal population). Meanwhile, I can further seed my spawn across the universe with Skipstep, and even to the multiverse with Community. I choose not to expand or improve my Realm itself (much), because my spawn and I are only immortal (only respawn) when outside of it anyway.

In the end though I don't really want anything from them. I have stolen nothing, so I have no enemies coming to me. I have what I need already and they are better off.

I think the trick is not trying to take too much. For my human-centric build here >>9273 I found that 6 points really was all I needed. Building up my realm itself doesn't serve any purpose when I control Earth and any other habitable planets in the multiverse. It's an infiltrator build, so I don't want serious physical changes (even beneficial ones) nor do my spawn need any combat strength, so it all works out.

If you were to take a combat oriented build you could afford to take some mutations on your spawn because they no longer need to look human to reach your goal. Similarly if you want to build up your own realm you don't really need to worry about what your spawn look like either, but you might do without combat capabilities.

You only really fuck yourself over when you try to do everything at once. If you want your spawn to still pass for human AND have magic powers AND expand your realm AND still have some powers for yourself as well, you are going to have a hard time. You could gamble, but you'll likely just lose everything. Settle on one route though and you can make it work.

The options are just too cheap and the drawbacks too small, especially for a cyoa about elder gods

You can get all the most powerful and fun options with only trivial drawbacks and that's… meh
