I choose Holstaurus Farmer & Gnome Defender.

The Gnome Defender protects the farm we live on and improves the soil within. The Holstaurus Farmer grows crops in that soil and keeps us fed and profitable.

To mix things up a bit on this board, I've decided I'm going to necro a random thread every week.

She was just way too adorable not to pick. She's listed as dominant, but her description makes her sound a lot more reasonable than most, or at least most doms. Plus having both magic and technology would be great.

So this is going to sound bad, but I think my plan is to spend most of my time away from the dwarf? She's cute and I like her, but she says she prefers to be in her quiet cave where she can work without distraction, so basically I'll just have her as my personal smith/mechanic/shop/…housekeeper? while I adventure with the snek. We both start out weak but she's stated to be a fast learner and I'm sure I can put the dwarf's equipment to use

Lilim Aristocrat and Succubus Temptress. A life of luxury in the Lilim's palace, pampered and spoiled and constantly fucked senseless. I imagine she'd keep the succubus and I as concubines.

Which part is cheating? The doppelganger acquires the physical traits, instincts, and abilities of whatever it transforms into. The downside is it lacks the skills and knowledge. I could transform into a cyclops, but lack the skill to forge equipment. I could transform into a Pharaoh, but could not resurrect myself and other people unless I learned how to wield the power of a Pharaoh, etc…

Physical attributes of the form like not requiring food or not aging are not skills though. They should always be active whenever I take the form.

I'd consider them to fall into the "physical abilities and traits" category, so they can be replicated by a doppelganger. For example if I take an undead form I won't need to eat food because the physical form I have taken is not alive and has no such nutritional requirements. The undead form may have other requirements. A vampire, for example, requires a few drops of blood to sustain themselves.

What can't be replicated is anything beyond the physical form itself. I assume that means magical stuff, which is why the witch adept is needed to grant me magical power.

You are reading as "Physical: Traits, Instincts, and Abilities", it should be read as "physical-traits, instincts, and abilities" Physical is a modifier for Traits, but not for instincts or abilities. This is obvious because "physical instincts" doesn't make sense.

Now that we've defined non-physical abilities as being in the realm of things that can be copied, the next question is whether or not "Magic" is an ability or a skill. I guess that depends on the magic though. I wouldn't consider Dragons Breath to be a skill, but witches spells probably are. On the other hand, it would generally make more sense if magic wasn't copied at all, but then you'd have forms dependant on magic getting none and that would leave the question of what kind of non-skill abilities even exist.

Personally I just go Kitsune and ignore all that. Kitsune Mistress(self)+Ryuu Oracle for me, with the second ally being something of a wildcard. Someone who can teach something like the Lizardman Legionare or the Witch Adept. With the Ryuu I usually use her wishes to gain additional powers. While technically selfish, such powers can also also be used for good and our relationship is sufficient proof they won't be used for evil.
