Day 1: I have found a grocery store left unguarded and barricaded myself inside. Rather easy with zero windows and only 3 entrances.
Day 2: I found some solar panels on the roof. Just in time! I hooked it up to the fusebox and now the frozen goods will stay that way.
Day 3: the zombies have chased a poor girl to my doorstep. I let her in, but thought it was too late. Once I convinced this shaking leaf that she was safe, she opened up to me. Told me her name was
Sui. She apparently perfected a fast-acting vaccine for any zombie bites and demonstrated on a bad gash on her leg.
Day 4: Sui spent the night in my arms. She's really as sweet as could be, and useful too. I showed her the rain collector I built on the roof since the stuff coming out of the pipes was making me sick.
Day 5: Another survivor arrived at my property. She's a smartmouthed little girl named Lily. She couldn't wait to come up to the roof and demonstrate what a crackshot she was with her rifle. She certainly blew up all the zombie heads in sight like pinatas. She's eager to do hourly patrols of the store. I caught her shooting some cans but I stopped her before she wasted too much ammo.
Day 6: I think Lily was jealous of Sui last night. She kept peeking at us while we cuddled and would turn away in a huff. We sleep on the roof, as the zombies are too uncoordinated to climb ladders or even walk upstairs really. They can't even open doors, but I lock them anyway.
Day 7: another survivor joins the team. She's mute, but her dog tags say her name is Hailey. She's a kickass martial artist. We saw her approach the store by fighting through a crowd of zombies and then parkour on top of the roof without a scratch. She's friendly and really likes to hug.
Day 8: assuming the garbagemen were also zombified, we've been tossing our waste off the side of the building. Pretty gross but blends in with the zombie smell nicely, I think it actually camoflages us.
Day 9: we've noticed the zombies get more agitated at night. But we just turn the lights off and we're left alone. Turns out being undead doesn't give you night vision. Winter is also right around the corner so freezing their bodies should slow them down.
Day 10: Hailey was bitten by a zombie while scouting for other survivors. Thankfully she got back in time to be aided by Sui. She's fine but has been recuperating in bed for a while. I came to say hi and she pulled me in for a long hug.
Day 20: the first snow of the season. The zombies cells have crystallized and they've been falling apart like rotten bananas. Regardless, we keep our guard up, since there's no heating we must stay active.
Day 40: We found a pallet of white chocolate! This will be a very merry Christmas indeed!
Day 60: I've gotten into a serious thing with Hailey. It started when we all slept together for warmth and it escalated from there. Also, the zombies are suffering severe freezer burn and are even slower and stiffer than usual, so Hailey has spent more time scavenging the ammo and hardware store down the strip.
Day 100: Spring is here! We're also officially out of fresh food and deli food! Cans and boxes forever! Sui also has been experimenting and came up wth an even more effective antidote, which can be weaponized into a paralyzing dart. Lily is very happy about this.
