>If you stop masturbating your testosterone will rise for about a week then suddenly decrease the longer you go without.

Is this true?

 No.374120

Potentially, but it's not going to be noticable, either the increase or the decrease.

Ejaculating often (about seven times a week, or more within reason) is healthy though. There's generally conflicting information on things regarding masturbation (specifically ejaculation), but all hard science sources agree that it's healthy (in the absence of related illnesses). Testosterone is healthy for men even if you want to be small/feminine. This chart is a meme. Please don't fall for the memes.

Ah, thank you! Is everything in the chart inaccurate or just that bit? I'm hoping to shape my body up to be more feminine.

As far as the skin care things go, I can't tell you, unfortunately. I know personal fitness well, but I don't know dermatology.

The other stuff is inaccurate, or at least it misconstrues things. Barbells are better than dumbbells for health (in terms of performing functional movements) because they work the entire body rather than singular muscle groups. Barbell deadlifts are incredible for your abdomen, as well as great for your glutes, for example.

Soy products also do not increase estrogen. /fit/ people who tell you this are dudebros who can't into phytoestrogens.

As for "testosterone causing greasy skin, breakouts and repugnant smell", I know people at 120kg who lift very heavy yet have no issues with any of this. This doesn't even happen to every powerlifter on roids. It's not an issue for you. Naturally, you might require skin care products for perfectly smooth skin etc., but make no mistake, tons of women and feminine guys do as well.

Jut like how there are a million genders and how being fat is perfectly healthy, right?

pls stop inferring things when you don't understand the things in question. look this shit up on nature or pubmed or whatever you want but it's a useless gesture to assume you know more than professionals. thanks.

That's perfectly fine by me, but it doesn't make what I'm saying less true, and it doesn't mean that I'm stating there's more than two genders, or that being unfit is healthy

Ahhh, OP here again, I wish I saw this before I bought some soy milk, hopefully it helps me a little at least! Thanks!

 No.374153

>>374151

I saw a study a long time ago which stated that isoflavones in soy had only a weak effect on estrogen receptors, however it increased the volume of receptors or the sensitivity of receptors or something along those lines.

 No.374155

>>374153

That's not quite how it works. Phytoestrogens can loosely mimic the functions of estrogens and therefore have estrogenic properties. But it is strictly not actual, endocrinal (if this is a word) estrogen. They can also have antiestrogenic properties as they may clog receptors.

However, that it's harmful or actually increases/reduces human estrogen levels is not the scientific consensus. Even studies that admit that it's possible for this to have adverse health effects on human reproductive physiology also have to admit that it's generally very unlikely since most studies do not show such a thing. There's also studies that display loose connections between phytoestrogens and reduced risks of cancer and cardiovascular disease, yet no one cares because it's not a meme to spout nonsense about that.

etc. Soy milk is fine though. I mean, if you like it, you shouldn't be afraid to drink it. That's pretty much all I'm saying.

Ah, that's a shame. Is there no way to naturally boost estrogen or the effects? I bought flax seeds as well.

 No.374161

>>374156

It's a shitty meme, if you want that your best bet by far are actual AAs and Estradiol, with diet you can at most achieve negligible effects. Maybe if you centered your entire diet around that but even then it probably wouldn't be noticeable and you'd have some other problems. So yeah, hrt or bust on that front. And you don't need hrt to be cute anyway (plus it's overrated as fuck).

 No.374162

>>374156

Flax seeds are good for you in general. You should eat those anyway if you want to.

As for boosting estrogen naturally, it's pretty hard to actually achieve noticable effects. For example, the part of the chart about spearmint tea is very poorly construed, as spearmint tea has only been conclusively shown to have any anti-androgenic or estrogenic effects on pregnant women. You can't really generalize that to also work for normally healthy men. There are indications that it potentially can work, but again, it's inconclusive at best, and these studies also specifically state that spearmint would have to be ingested in essentially copious amounts.

HRT works to get your estrogen up, but it's not a natural boost and it's very risky. I would specifically advice against it.

>You don't need hrt to be cute anyway

Thank you, that makes me feel way better!

Also that means I can stop worrying so much about that hormone balance stuff and just focus on keeping a good diet and working on skin/hair care.

I don't think I'm comfortable with taking meds for it because of the side-effects.

 No.374166

>>374164

That's good to hear. At least someone else isn't buying into the misinformation surrounding this stuff. Wholesome diet plus reasonable exercise is all you really need to be cute.

 No.374167

Oh yes, I'm really glad I looked into all this before making any major changes. Thank you everyone for the help!
