Baking isn't the same as cooking. Baking appeals to women because you just have to follow the recipe, follow the instructions, to get it right. There's very little in the way of imagination or creativity in baking because for the most part you'll completely fuck it up if you change the type or proportion of the ingredients. That said, I do enjoy cooking. Never use a recipe though; and half the time when I start grabbing ingredients from the pantry I have no set idea what I'll be making or how I'll season it. Even if I make the same thing twice, it won't be exactly the same every time, because measurements are for sissies.

Nah. Olive oil and garlic on the crust, and then slices of fresh tomato alongside the slices or mozzarella and leaves of basil. It's so much better! Sauce is so boring, especially American canned sauce. One can almost never go wrong with fresher ingredients.

I cook, I used to do it for a living :3 Since it's the weekend now I get to spend extra time making breakfast and stuff, which is nice. Normally I just get something quick, but when I have an hour or so to devote, I use it.

Like, there's a spread I make for bagels or toast, leads of flavor and texture to it. I like to start with making some aioli. Apparently if you buy it in like the UK it's literally just mayonnaise with garlic lol. But I like to start it out like mayonnaise, that is, whipping an egg yolk while adding in half a cup of oil a few drops at a time, with garlic ofc, but I also put in a bit of Dijon mustard for some spice. Takes around ten minutes to get the consistent perfect. Then I'll mash chickpeas down into a paste and mix in a couple tablespoons of the aioli to give it a smooth texture, and a tablespoon of sweet relish to kind of level out the Dijon and garlic, plus I like a bit of crunch. Otherwise I'm a big yogurt guy, gotta have those pro-biotics (sauerkraut is a good cultured food I can make at home easily), but the rest of breakfast is mainly fruits and what all, though a glass of homemade almond milk doesn't go amiss. When you make almond milk at home, the ground up almond pulp you squeeze the milk from can be baked into a nice yogurt topping btw.

baking is chemistry nigger, following the recipe makes you a "cook," having the full knowledge the reactions of what your ingredients do together is baking
