How is it that the same institution that gave us talent like Genndy, McCracken, Renzetti and many others in the 90's now just results in the same crappy art style? It can be said that bother Dexter's Lab and PPG (which had Genndy and McCracken swapping the roles of creator and producer on each others shows) both had similar "thickline" art styles but at least everything else (character designs) was different.
Could it be the networks approving these cartoons be to blame? Lots of dumb executives approving this potato/bean art style because of muh "cheap" production costs and NOT trying to make new cartoons stand out from one another?
I remember a story abut Codename Kid's Next Door original concept and how an Cartoon Network executive told them to change the "tech" used by the kids because it seemed too similar to what Dexter's Lab used, the team went and changed to it to "2x4 style" tech (made out of recognizable junk) to make themselves different (and the creator ended up liking more). If a executive could recoginise that then, why not now?

If it's just for kids then why are we treating like shit with the worst of the worst? Even the cheapest 80's animation studios weren't this lazy and they had tighter budgets and harsher deadlines. Worst of all, if the toys didn't sell enough then the show was canceled.
Shitty shows like Stephan Jewniverse gets to pretty much have their show drop episodes literally whenever they feel like it. With the modern innovations to animation you could throw shows out at a break-neck pace to the point the writing can't even keep up as seen with Teen Titans Go.
Whats the excuse to not put out an amazing show with all these tools at your disposal? You can't even say "Budget" anymore because of how cheap animation has become for the industry that outsourcing inbetweens would just be for pennies.

If anyone ever tells you that then you can tell them it's actually because the writers listened to Tumblr and ruined their final season to the point Nick couldn't air it on the channel because of the lesbo ending, not to mention that the show was doomed to failure the same way 2011 Thundercats was because they decided to fuck with the schedule too much and put it on at bizarre hours. But even then the show was shit due to all the crappy writing decisions they've made, but thats a whole other topic altogether.
So the "it's just for kids" argument is literally the worst argument for anything ever and is being used by clueless shills defending the wrong people.
