I remember them. Instead of Spike and Bumblebee, they followed the adventures of Spike's apocryphal brother Buster, and his BFF Ratchet.

Only ever got to skim through a trade once. Didnt it have the autobots assume a drive in movie was a religious service? Also had Spike meet them by trying to repair bumblebee and realizing it wasn't a car.

They had a couple of cool human villains, like the robot-hating fanatic Circuit Breaker, and The Mechanic, who was a bank robber who stole a couple of Ratchet's repair tools and used them really well.

And there was a human-made female giant robot ninja, Shadow Raven or something. If you can imagine a 15 foot tall robot who was really good at sneaking up on other robots…

They do and its one of the few cases where the japs actually localize it to the same degree of what 4kids does to anime. Some versions of Western Transformers can actually be quite serious sometimes. However Japan likes to butcher plots and make characters different ones. Like how most fembots are turned into guys/boy crazy or romantic relationships are changed to "Deep bonds of Brotherhood". For example Tigatron and Air Razors romance in beast wars was changed into a samurai/student relationship. That dumb bat in Beast Machines was turned into a gay joke character too.
