Kids tend to like awful shit, but that's excusable because young kids haven't seen or experienced enough stuff in their lives to develop good taste. Doesn't mean CN should be only serving them shitty awful shows, but that's what they're getting and it will likely kill televised cartoons as an industry.

Don't get me wrong. This is definitely an ugly show. I think the soft voices and little faces on everything is probably what got their foot in the door. Everything is cutesy and silly and some executive probably thought that would be enough to hold the attention of dumb kids, while all the social anxiety and relationshit drama would hold the attention of 20-40 year old hipsters who spend their days on tumblr churning out dozens of pieces of fanart (free advertising) for shitty kids cartoons.
