Incorrect. There was a widescreen Laserdisc, and one specific DVD printing (PAL region, I believe). There are no official HD releases in any form though, apart from when it is very rarely shown on TV. And even though it's not in what I would call bad shape, it's clear Disney hasn't attempted to remaster the film. You can still see bits of dust on the picture every once in a while.
I have no idea why they've basically abandoned doing anything beyond the bare minimum for this film. I'm guessing there's probably some rights thing involved with the music (whoever did the Powerline stuff and/or that brief snippet of the Bee Gees).
