>So they took Jesus; and carrying the cross by himself, he went out to what is called The Place of the Skull, which in Hebrew is called Golgotha. There they crucified him, and with him two others, one on either side, with Jesus between them. Pilate also had an inscription written and put on the cross. It read, "Jesus of Nazareth, the King of the Jews." Many of the Jews read this inscription, because the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city; and it was written in Hebrew, in Latin, and in Greek. Then the chief priests of the Jews said to Pilate, "Do not write, 'The King of the Jews,' but, 'This man said, I am King of the Jews.'" Pilate answered, "What I have written I have written." When the soldiers had crucified Jesus, they took his clothes and divided them into four parts, one for each soldier. They also took his tunic; now the tunic was seamless, woven in one piece from the top. So they said to one another, "Let us not tear it, but cast lots for it to see who will get it." This was to fulfill what the scripture says,"They divided my clothes among themselves, and for my clothing they cast lots." And that is what the soldiers did. -John 19: 16-24

>Later, knowing that everything had now been finished, and so that Scripture would be fulfilled, Jesus said, “I am thirsty.” A jar of wine vinegar was there, so they soaked a sponge in it, put the sponge on a stalk of the hyssop plant, and lifted it to Jesus’ lips. When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.- John 19: 28-30

Except the Persian empire was completely racially egalitarian. The jews traded that for the yoke of the Romans, who destroyed the religion when they destroyed the temple in 70AD. Judaism as it exists today is not a religion but a racially exclusive rhetorical college. Rabbis are not priests or theurgists of any kind.

That's very true, but you make sound as if the Jews had any choice in the matter when it came to who ruled over them. God told them that if they didn't get their act together and stop breaking the Sinai Covenant (Law of Moses) they were gonna pay for it, not even in the fine print, black and white, clear as crystal.
So, what happens? After David kingdom breaks, Assyria takes care of northern kingdom, Babylon rises, takes care of Assyria and southern kingdom. Then Persia rises and takes care of Babylon, Jews are still without a king and are vassal state, then come the Greeks, short revolution, then the Romans.
The never have a physical king or actual independent nation again. You are 100% correct about what happened in 70 AD and the result of it. Makes me scratch my head whenever people want to reinstall that old system that God, through Rome, very literally destroyed.

Thanks for keeping this alive another year, OP.
With the change in publishers we lost creator info. Wonder if those pages weren't scanned, or if the new publishers were whoops can't say that in a christian manga thread that didn't feel the need. (probably the ones still giving Buzz shit about the rights, too) I'd be nice to know who the artists were on these later ones.

It's very nice. Thanks for drawing it. I save pretty much all the Serenity OC that I see because I really do love the comic. I know these storytimes will never be as huge or chaotic as that first one in the old country that spilled over into /v/, but it's still important to keep it in our hearts and making OC is a part of that.
Serenity's had a big impact on me and in turn it's been an influence on the things I write. Hopefully at least one person got to enjoy it for the first time this year.
