Whether Clark or Supes is the act depends on what people see in supes themselves after all.
Originally Clark was the act since he pretended to be weaker than he actually was, then it was reversed, Clark was no longer that weak so it was more like he was confident of himself and he wouldn't take mundane shit as seriously unless it was personal, now its some kind of amalgamation of the previous two where Clark acknowledges both cultures.
That's probably the only semi-consistent character development of this whole show and Bendis wants to do his old technique of burning everything before him to satisfy his own ego, he knows he's so "well regarded" that he knows that from now on every Supes adaptation will have to be based mostly on his version of the comic.
