>Guardians of the Galaxy #151 has been cancelled by Marvel Comics. The announcement was made in the publisher's weekly email to retailers. In several previous instances, Marvel has said a cancelled issue would be resolicited at a later date but this was not done for January 17's Guardians of the Galaxy #151.

>The issue remains listed on Diamond Comic Distributors' website, however.

>Both Marvel and series writer Gerry Duggan declined to comment. Guest artist Mike Allred could not be reached for comment.

Marvel gave the Book to Bendis. Predictably, he completely shat on the work that Abnett and Lanning did resurrecting GotG and cosmic Marvel as a whole, and turning it into a decently selling and reliable title. Bendis' horrid writing and dumb ideas lead to sales plummeting and old fans abandoning the book. He left the book few months ago, and new creators clearly weren't able to clean Brian's mess.

You think his sudden hire with DC is related to this complete shittening of this series and the shit pile that was Civil War 2?

 No.940557

Just sounds like the got the first treatment for GotG3 and are probably rewriting shit to try and line up with whatever stupid shit the MCU is going to be doing.

Is Kevin still Ike's bitch?

Nah. Fiege got the execs to separate Marvel Studios from the core of Marvel. Ike still controls the comics, tv shows, and I assume vidya. But even with that the comics bend over backwards to tie into whatever movie or show is out.

Its much worse than that. Bendis disregarded all previous events established in DnA's run and did as he wanted. His intention was that the book served as blue print which the live-action movie would have been built on, but James Gunn specifically told the cast to not read Bendis run - he knew it was that bad and you can tell the movie characters share nothing in common with the comics.

From what I heard Civil War II was a complete fucking disaster because the first issue sold well, but dropped like a rock as the event went along. They went as far as extending the event specifically to get more money (a tactic later used on Secret Empire), allegedly because Bendis disliked the original ending and wanted to change it which is bullshit: he always wanted Tony to lose the conflict so that Riri Williams could replace him. You could tell the moment she was announced that he was gonna die and Carl Manvers would emerge as the victor. When all was said and done, you will not find a single outlet willing to defend CWII because 1) event fatigue 2) obvious cashgrab made on the heels of Cap 3 and 3) it wasn't just as good as the original conflict (which is a whole new contentious subject altogether since most people agree Civil War did not age well and is widely considered the start of the rot for current Marvel comics).

>i haven't read any of it

You really should read the Abnett and Lanning stuff that started with Annihilation, it's an awesome space opera and some of the best stuff Marvel's ever done. That said everything after their run should be avoided like the plague.

nah he grew some balls and finally threatened to quit, now he answers directly to disney and Ike has no say over anything Marvel Studios does.
