Overall, Gaul still get conquered and Romanized, with the indomitable village being a notable exception. The village itself goes on like it always has in the comics until the druid dies. With no one left who knows how to brew the magic potion, the village becomes completely dependent on Obélix to defend them and Astérix to strategically send Obélix to the right places to fight. Once they're gone the Romans finally conquer the village, although at that point there probably aren't many people left as it was a small village to begin with, and with few children.
The Romans do what they can to erase the village from history as to not blemish their perfect record in conquering foreign territories, but descendants keep passing on the story of the village orally. Eventually, sometime in the late 20th century in modern-day France, one of these descendants blabs about the village to one Uderzo and Goscinny, inspiring them to make comics about it.
