House of X and Powers of X (pronounced ten) very clever

Other X-men series are ending and Jonathan Hickman is essentially coalescing all of X-Men together into these two series. I don't think it's a whole reboot. It's getting a lot of press.

Any thoughts on the matter? Does it seem a bit desperate? Just posturing to lead up to the inevitable Disney X-Men flicks?

Pretty much. Marvel does not know what to do with X-Men. It's just another desperate effort to recapture X-Men's 80s and 90s popularity.

You'd think if they wanted to recapture anything they'd just write good stories, with actual progress, cohesive narratives, & new characters that aren't just cannon fodder. But no that makes too much sense so they'll never do any of it.

I'd like to see some nuance in how they handle race relations between the mutants and humans. The humans don't oppress the mutants anymore but they still have to deal with a mutant losing control could nuke a town so I'd be curious to see how they deal with stuff like that.
