In which case I would argue that Dan Vs., with it's unfortunately short run, is the best "modern" cartoon, though there are one or two close contenders.

Easy, Wander Over Yonder. Its got all the things you could ever want out of a modern cartoon: competent animation, characters that are likeable, a wide variety of premises with a simple formula, and most importantly it is funny.
As far as the shit thread topic goes, every fucking thread on this board has been a shit thread at least since those DDoS attacks about a year ago. Since then almost no one has even attempted to make a thread with more than two sentences in the OP, much less a halfway decent thread. The comments are all full of people shitting on the OP without adding anything notable or interesting, or trying to recover the thread. It just turns into a boring slog of skimming through people calling each other samefags and reddit/cuckchanners without attempting to say anything interesting. That is precisely what prevents me from checking more than 3 threads a month on /co/ these days, there is no reason to since there is nothing at all interesting going on.
I blame a lack of decent shows for some of it, but that never stopped us from enjoying shit before.
