Cartoon Network's Hit Series "We Bare Bears" Recieving a Movie in 2020

http://archive.fo/UEhRO

>Get ready for more bear hugs and smiles. Grizz, Panda and Ice Bear are going on a couple of new kinds of adventures.

>Cartoon Network announced Thursday that “We Bare Bears” is getting a TV movie and a spinoff.

>Currently in production, “We Bare Bears the Movie” will follow the stackable bear bros as their love of food trucks and internet fame leads to a bit of unexpected mayhem. Grizz (Eric Edelstein), Panda (Bobby Moynihan) and Ice Bear (Demetri Martin) will find themselves having to go on a wild, dangerous and likely hilarious adventure to escape a foe who threatens to tear them apart. The TV movie is slated for a 2020 premiere.

>While the adult bears are prepping for a feature-length adventure, a spinoff based on the Baby Bears is also in development at Cartoon Network.

>“We Bare Bears” creator Daniel Chong previously told The Times that when the show debuted, he and his writers thought they would maybe do one or two Baby Bear episodes a season.

>But fans loved those flashback episodes that focused on the cute younger versions of the main characters, and the crew started to really love their adventures too.

>“The nice thing about the Baby Bears is that they can kind of be anywhere,” Chong said last year. “You can almost push their adventures a little bit more outlandish because they’re babies and we can put them in more ridiculous situations. For some reason, it feels a little bit more doable than with the adult bears.”

>Chong will executive produce both the “We Bare Bears” spinoff and TV movie.

Outside of furries, I've seen no one talk about or praise this show.

This, much as i like the show, from what i've seen that is 100%. CN barely promoted this while just dropping it (just like with Clarence and Mighty Magiswords) and it makes me fucking sad.

There are non-koreans who watch this?

They cancelled that? Well shit. For a better character dynamic, they shouldn't have made the two mains brother and sister. Honestly, I don't know a single person who watches this show, except a furry girl I used to know.

For what I have see, the show it's quite popular not because it's good (they wish) but instead for the OMG!11 So kawaii~ crow that like seeing the bears doing cute things. That's pretty much all the merchandise is based and that's also why their doing a spinoff with the baby bears to appeal even more with the cuteness.

Yeah, poor Mighty Magiswords. No one fucking talked about it online except maybe a cartoon youtuber mentioning it's existence once in a blue moon or a /aco/ request for waifu porn.

I couldn't really get into the show all to well, due to the show's poor pacing for me. But i have seen a few eps, and there were good (especially with the one where Princess Zange gets sick). I loved Kyle Carrozza's past works, but it just makes a bit ashamed that i missed out on it.

Wait, Koreans watch this?

Wat.

This is just like the time where anons said the show had the same humor as teen titans go. When it didn't, at all.

I was actually referring to We Bear Bears, but yeah I hardly knew anyone who watched Magiswords except kids on youtube comments. The show had potential but its bad pacing, bad jokes and bad sword ideas were horribly meh. The characters were good but could've been better, the story and plot were amusing but there was so much more room for improvement.

Korean girls are nuts about these stupid bears.

Yep. Korea is what is keeping this show afloat. They even had an episode where popular Korean boy band #30648376 guest starred.

Sounds like they aren't pandering to Korea as much as they are pandering to obnoxious, disgusting western k-pop fans.

I still don't understand how a comic with only four releases of five-panels got a cartoon. It's funny in spades though.

Apparently Star vs also had a spoof with a Korean drama, which I know are also popular in the West.

In terms of showing appreciation for their outsourced slave-animators, Adventure Time seems to have done the best job, though that really isn't saying much (kimchi is also popular in the West, which they brought up; why'd they let that Korean lady voice act again? Not saying she was bad, but I don't remember their reasoning for it), and neither do I really care for the show (though neither most shows airing nowadays anyway).

Either way, I cringe every time, since it tends to be or feel forced. At least clip related was funny, even if pretty disgusting if Family Guy outsources as well, which I'm sure they do even a little.

Why is it so hard for them to make good cartoons? My only guess is that they don't have many other interests, because they're pathetically boring people. Maybe they should outsource inspiration like they do their workers, fucking hell.

Polar Bear Cafe was better. On a serious note, what was We Bare Bears about again? I forgot I watched a few episodes a while back.

>Hit Series

Wait, with whom? Even furries barely bring this show up. Half the fanart I've seen is just a crossover with Polar Bear/Shirokuma Cafe.

It's about three orphan bear brothers living in a cave in Northern California they obtained via assertive domain (squatter's rights) after failing to find an apartment for cheap. They are friends with a 14 Year Old oriental prodigy who is enrolled at the local college and a big-foot like creature voiced by Earl from My Name is Earl. The show is primarily a slice of life. The bears are depicted as possessing some of the more millennial stereotypes. Grizley is more of an average joe, Panda is a weeb otaku who likes the internet and has a body pillow, and "Ice Bear" is a bear that rarely talks but possesses a giant intelligence, inventing things and improving other things. Ice Bear once made a robot version of himself to do housework.

That explains that fanart crossovers then. The characters sound pretty different though.

Shirokuma Bears

>lazy panda, is NEET until mom forces him to get a job (even at his job he's still lazy)

>pun-loving, social polar bear (intelligence seems average, loves to joke around)

>tough grizzly bear, sometimes acts scary but he's a total bro (polar bear's jokes sometimes get on his nerves, but he also has a soft side)

I haven't seen Shirokuma Bears, nor have I heard of it. Pirate some episodes of We Bear Bears and tell me if it's a rip-off? I believe it might be. when this was announced, I looked it up and saw the animator's comic the show was made out of only had four or so releases ever.
