We all know how much strict Disney is with certain themes such death and horror.
Let's see how Gabriele Panini(storywriter) and Alessia Martusciello(cartoonist) worked around those restrictions in this parody of "Shadow Over Innsmouth"

So Pete is the bad guy because he wanted to reveal the horrible truth of the Deep One's ascent to the surface world?
Interesting premise, but it lacks the bite a good parody needs. Like a lot of these Disney parodies, it's a bit too bland and safe. Donald would have been a better MC as he's been shown to succumb to madness on occasion.
As for your translation, it's serviceable & readable. It does need some more polish and proofreading. It could do without the "glab" & "glob" that Mickey utters. Also, I would have gone with "Goofcraft" instead of "Goofycraft." It's one syllable too many to coincide with "Lovecraft".

Thanks, at first I thought "Lovegoff" had a better sound, but in the end I dicided so stick with the original Pippcraft.

>Why is Disney better in EU?
Not bound by having to make every character into a goody two shoes and being able to draw from a lot of regional and international mythos and media without the fear of copyright infringement. Pastanigger here, I recall Topolino having plenty of cameos from Italian VIPs who'd also promote the comics themselves, which actually helped shape up some interesting stories with their self inserts' quirks. There was a Ronaldo (the BR one) comic where he'd get loaned to literally every team of the League under Scrooge's contract, until he starts going mad from wearing too many different jerseys and ends up changing positions by the end as Scrooge inevitably assaults Donald for having such great ideas, and it was the zaniest, dumbest plot but I'd say nothing similar has come out of the USA.

Oh yeah also it helps Disney doesn't sue shit like this in Italy because it's free advertisement for them, unlike how they act in Murika.
For reference, this is literally one popular soccer team accusing (((Juventus))) of stealing the past ten Italian trophies while being unable to compete on the international scene.

Yeah, this story is pretty much anti-Lovecraftian; the Deep Ones are nice and just misunderstood. The reporter should have been the main character and discovered Innsmouse horrible secret, and been too disturbed by that shocking revelation that he refused to publish his findings, possibly with an ending similar to ‘Dagon’, where the unnamed narrator believes he has been followed, hears some eldritch horror coming towards his room and jumps out the window committing suicide – obviously it shouldn’t show that, but it could end with the reporter hearing something coming for him and leave it ambiguous if it was some Deep One or other eldritch horror, or something non-threatening.
The Donald Duck story ‘The Call of C’rruso!’ is far superior, and in the third act it turns into a truly effective Lovecraftian/cosmic horror story, and that ending… wew!

As for the translation, I am pretty sure the expressions (such as “Glom”) are quite common in Disney stories, certainly the Italian Disney Donald/Mickey stories, I think. Pretty sure I have seen these expressions in the fan translations of PKNA as well.

Nice story but I think it should have explored the horror aspect a little more. Even with that, I always enjoy how the European authors get more liberty than in this side of the ocean even if they still have to deal with their own censorship.

Pastanigger here, Italian onomatopoeia usually come in two flavors: either an English word used in place of the action (like with Sigh to indicate someone is sighing) or they mix an Italian word with the sound of that particular action so that it sounds more "English" if you will. "Sgurgle" is sort of like a gasp but kind of like you're also gulping, I think the guy who made this also left in a typo in page 74.
Unrelated but we had some spectacular series of comics being dubbed on TV, maybe you can check them out, too.

There was a Mickey Mouse horror comic that was actually pretty creepy. Can't find it online but it's apparently in Mickey Mouse Adventures (Gemstone) 12 by the name of "By Twilight's Bite" I thought it was pretty great when I was a kid, one of the few Mickey Mouse stories that weren't complete shit.

Here is a spoopy Mickey story I remember reading back in ’96.
Btw., anyone got a English translation of Il fantasma di Canterville? It is, as the title indicates, a parody of Oscar Wilde’s The Canterville Ghost. According to I.N.D.U.C.K.S. it has never officially been translated into English/published in the US/UK/AUS: https://inducks.org/story.php?c=I+TL+1789-A
